even if it's only for decoration, having a place set aside for sleeping gives your base a complete look. the front room on the Barracks main floor should be set up as a Commons and communal dining area. seating mats, the Dining Table, weapon Racks, trophies, etc... should fill this space giving it a proper lived in look. the landing halfway up can be fortified to use as a defensive redoubt. as the leader, you do need your own place and naturally a throne and formal space.

- A fertilizer bucket is like a well or latrine - a structure built over a hole where stuff ferments and breaks down. That's why it has to be on the ground. - Stairs don't need an inside variant - they'll overlap at corners without issue.

Stone opens up more building options including half walls, shallower roofs and more inner stair options etc. It also goes back to both sides of the wall being the same so the orientation of wood does not end up mattering. You can build floors 3 out from a wall or pillar, that is why it would turn red. Your beds may be too close for the AI to access it. They rarely use beds anyways, I build more for the looks but the most they ever use is a couple. You are limited to 6 bonfires. Your Ai crafters and farm need to be inside one to work. It does not matter with decay off what you build outside the zone. Later on you need a bonfire to build a portal in a new area. You are limited on how many farm plots you can have in one bonfire that is what upgrading effects. You also do not need to keep that little fire on base going you can respawn at the bonfire or campfire. Campfires are more like a bedroll.

Dude the railing on the stairs blew my mind! I have not yet been building any railings but now I will for sure! It is soooo damn rare to see railing for stairs. And also, the beds are way to close for the AI to use them I think. Awesome video as always Kage!

i built a honeycomb style building and have yet to really utilize all of it myself, but that's because i made it big and 4 stories tall. once i start upgrading benches, and getting more tribesmen i think it will begin to fill out.

Yes you can use more than one bonfire, ive seen massive camps with 3. Upgrading doesnt increase the range i think it just adds to comfort

The moment you walk into the Barracks you should be met with a grand armory. Theres decorative dummies you can mount arour to and I believe a standing brazier that can have weapons mounted to them.

Since they won't be using the beds much, perhaps make it a Mess Hall? Dining table and chairs, maybe on one side, and the other the 2nd bonfire for them to sit and dance around. Never hurts to add beds for looks, mind you.

Up grading the bonfire allows you to us charcoal only and it burns longer, fences can be used as half walls.

You can only build a few farm plots with the initial bonfire. When I had my big base I wanted to put a plot for every farm type and it wouldn’t let me. Once you upgrade to bronze you can. I’m guessing if you what two of a few types you will need an iron fire pit. One of each seems to work for me.

Once you get into higher level areas, if your tribesmen go outside bonfire radius they can be captured by hostile tribes. so yeah keep your bonfire.

Yes Kage there are half wall, but you'll only have them when you build with stone.

Npc rarely use a bed, and never after you give them a steam tub. They want to sit around the fire bit on mats or chairs to rest.

Is it just me or is Kage purposely putting the walls backwards? I guess it doesn't matter if he doesn't have to worry about raids but traditionally in these games, the flat side of the wall is stronger and harder to break down in a raid.
