This is a rly good breakdown of the situation! In spite of their “apology” they’ve been extremely defensive of their blatant tracing and making constant excuses about how it’s actually okay for them to do. Meanwhile, if I found that someone was tracing a commission I’d bought from them, I’d be furious! I understand if it’s hard to draw a violin. If I comm you a character holding a violin and you trace it? I don’t care lol but if you make your whole thing “drawing violins” then you’ll just be finding an excuse to trace every drawing you do! Tracing is a tool to learn with, but kagebros is using it as a crutch and it shows.

when that triple op piece was first posted, i immediately noticed the similarities between darls' art and kage's (i remember scrolling by it and doing a serious double take) but i was admonished for speaking about it. thank you for including it - i always felt like it was a huge disservice to her.
