Kagura - Japanese traditional performing arts Hiroshima "Yorimasa" 2023

During the Heian period (794-1192) around two o'clock in the morning every day black cloud emerges from the Sanjo forest in Kyoto and envelopes the roof of the
palace, a monster bird begins to cry eerily. Emperor Konoe becomes sick every time these cries are heard.
Emperor's father worries about this phenomenon and orders Yorimasa, a heroic warrior, to vanquish this monster.
Yorimasa is dispatched with his follower Inohayata and shoots an arrow toward the black cloud. The monster falls to the ground with a thud. The monster has a strange
figure with a monkey's face, a raccoon's torso, a tiger's limbs, and a serpent's tail. The name of this monster bird is "Nue".
