Basically the anime cut out most of the final chapter of this season where Kaguya is talking to Hayasaka about the kiss. Basically she french kissed Miyuki, tongue and all, which Hayasaka sees as dirty and something you'd only do when you're in the bedroom with someone not for your first kiss, whereas Kaguya thought it was the only way you can kiss someone you like. Hayasaka argues with her that now Miyuki will think she's some sort of crazed nympho. Kaguya had gotten the kissing advice from Kashiwagi on how it's something you only do with someone you love, so she calls her on the phone to ask how long it took them to have sex after kissing for first time which Kashiwagi said 2 months which relieved Kaguya, but then she asks how long it took them to have sex after french kissing for the first time and Kashiwagi says 40 seconds which leads to Kaguya freaking out since she thinks she's given Miyuki the wrong impression with the kiss.

Kaguya and Miyuki both *indirectly confessed* to each other. Kiss (French kiss) from Kaguya saying, 'This is how I feel about you.' Heart balloons from Miyuki saying, 'This is how I feel about you.' and proposal for Kaguya from Miyuki to leave the country for school with him, as he doesn't want to leave her behind. Just missing those big 3 words (I love you) as direct verbal validation. Oh so close, but they just need that last crucial piece to fully bridge the gap by facing their insecurities. But the finish line is in sight.

At the end there when Kaguya said she still needed a confession actually never happened in the manga. The anime decided to put it there so that they can tell the audiance that this isn't over. Actually the confession by Shorogane was enough for her, but the issue was that she french kissed him which I am sure will be explained in the next season so I won't spoil that.

This reaction is all worth the wait!! Gosh we are all truly screeching and emotionally wrecked ain't we? After all we have been witnessing a long journey worth waiting, this is truly peak Rom-Com for all ages - no words are enough to truly describe just how brilliantly done this finale is between how every character got to play a part in this finale, how mind blowing Miyuki's confession plan is, how Kaguya loves him so much that she didn't want to hold him back to chase his dreams...but to me what's my favorite of all of this is this show (and ultimately finale) shows just how far our main couple and everyone else has character growth and how truly REWARDING it is by the end of it. Kaguya and Miyuki being vulnerable and showing their raw genuine feelings mutually was sl heart rendering, and best is the reasoning behind why these two strong willed, hard headed individuals want to make the other confess is NOT only because of personal pride... But rather due to their personal fear, insecurities, inferiority, and even self loathing with their own self. You can't deny it; a pair like Kaguya and Miyuki would usually end up toxic with their traits if they don't truly hold real affection and care for one another, but these two are MADE for one another and best of all; made each other better themselves and grow as better people. What a masterpiece this is.... I TRULY can't wait for what surprise adaptation that's to come!! Things get even more better here on! (And we are all Karen in the end. Being shot like that with ur ship sailing worth it 👌)

Forgot to add - kaguya doesn't 'resent' ishigami but was rather envious of him, the tl isn't as accurate on smaller details in many instances when it comes to kaguya sama adaptation... Which is why fansubs actually nail the dialogue much better for this show

Well there is something to say for the idea that Kaguya's envy manifests itself as resentment... we've seen it with Chika a lot, those moments where Kaguya goes 'she's a cancerous growth'. That is Kaguya's way of processing wanting something someone else has, because anything the Shinomiya family wants, is held by enemies of the family, and by people that need to be manipulated into giving up what the Shinomiya family wants. So while 'envy' is the more clear translation, 'resentment' is not necessarily that bad in this case if you remember what Kaguya is like.

That last scene is anime original and a timeskip. The manga (and I assume any future anime project) picks up right after the culture festival in late December, so there’ll still be a long time until Tsubame’s answer. I have a theory that the last scene was written as a sort of “just in case we don’t get to make any more Kaguya anime” contingency to put a more firm coda on the series.

Yeah, the only gripe I had with the end credit scene is that I think (although I can be wrong) Miko and Ishigami's relationship at this point should be a lot more civil especially since it's after her cast has healed since the "incident" and especially after valentine's day. The fact that she and Yuu are still arguing here doesn't seem consistent with that point of the story.

Honestly, Kaguya-Sama is such a 10/10 show and I can't believe I am saying that. Its premise is so silly and yet it delivers on it so perfectly, front the kick arse OPs to special ED (I still can't get Non-Fiction out of my head and randomly find myself singing it all the time) and absolutely everything in between. Whether its the big things like taking annoying blocker charachters and get us invested into their stories or the little things like making Kei and Miyukis relationship feel genuine, its just all has felt so right and I never imagined they would top the fireworks moment in season 1 but boy did this episode somehow manage to do that. I just hope they somehow keep this quality up for S4.

This season of Kaguya-sama was incredible, if it's not my top anime of the year right now, it's really close. Won't say much, but next season will be about, majority, Kaguya and Hayasaka arcs, but the Festival Cultural Arc it's the best arc of the manga for me and they did a phenomenal job with the animation, music and everything. Great reaction, greatest confession among the animes I've watched.

It was an honor to see all the anime with you, if you think that this is the highest peak, hold on because the manga maintains its quality and the following is one of the highest peaks as well, they have already confirmed that Kaguya will continue, but they have not said if it will be an OVA, season or movie, but few noticed that little detail. In the post-credits scene, Kaguya's eyes have a perfectly defined 4, and she does not have a 4 as a design in her eyes.

I wonder if some of the stuff with Ishigami/Tsubame is lost in translation, Japanese can be a lot less "direct" (so for example just saying "Suki" like Kaguya does can be translated as "I like you" but it it's really just saying "I like" with the "you" part being implied, but leaves room for interpretation like Hayasaka points out)

It's kind of weird when you realize Kaguya said and did nothing almost the entire time they were on the clocktower: couple words when she saw him, cried, then made fun of him. I think that's the main thing that annoyed me about the "dual confessions" - he did 98% of the work. All she did was cry up until the end when it was 100% safe to go in for the kiss. It's a good thing Shirogane was so determined. Most guys never would've made it past all the crying and dead silence, let alone the ridicule. He basically had to carry both of them across the finish line.

She wasn't really making fun of him like that in a mean way (more so teasing). The subs made her language seem like she was *harsher* than in the manga. Like saying instead along the lines of, 'When I think about how much effort this must have taken, I can't stop smiling.' And well they didn't really reach the finish line yet tbh... It comes together more so with the arc after this one. This arc was more about Shirogane's action. The next one is more about Kaguya. Looking as a whole, both arcs complements each other well.

There may be more ground to cover, but, as of this point, she comes across as a massive coward. Though I do think confession/dating has more weight in other places when the US is more casual. Look back at what the narrator said when he has whole dialogue section before they meet. Stories can present messages in exaggerated ways, but there are also elements that can keep aspects of it grounded for people to relate to as well.

That tidbit when Ishigami gives Kaguya's lost heart trinket/keychain to Miko (+the "video/Ipad" gesture) makes me think the writers will be going for, at least, a love triangle in the next few seasons...That and the fact that he still feels that he shouldn't be standing in Tsubame's way (e.g. the post-theatre show scene in the finale) or by Tsubame's side, that he might be a social/relational inconvenience to her, to the point it stops him from doing an outright confession... (which heavily contrasts with Shirogane's boldness in that same episode) He thinks he's helping Tsubame and being generous and courteous but he's also running away from a possible rejection. And if the writers are willing to give Kobachi Osaragi(cute tall glasses girl) a bigger part in the narrative and have her surpass her reduced character functions as Miko's "wingwoman"/Hayasaka, she might get in on that Ishigami love action as well, I think... x) But then again, she's another one of the "Impossible Girls/Tasks", since her character is based on the "Stone Begging Bowl of the Buddha" object from "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" that Ishidzukuri no Miko (Miko's folktale counterpart!) had been tasked with collecting, so things are probably not gonna work out on that end as well... ;[
