baat sirf kharchay ki nahi hai..mein freelance programmer hu aur mein at least dozen social networks bana chuka hu aur 2 as a side project kuch naya seekhnay k liey banaye thay...mera bhi khwab tha k pakistan se koi social network launch karun..aur mujhe confidence hai khud per k mei aram se karsakta hu sab kuch handle...lekin aap socho mein ek regular middle class admi hu...agar mere social network per koi controversial post ati hai tou jis ka dil chahayga muu utha kar aag lagaday mere office ko...jab kisi ko kuch bura lagega network per mujhe utha lia jayega...America jaisa freedom ho to sab ka alternate ban jayega....jahan tak China ki baat hai woh sab bht zyada controlled hai aur state sponsored bhi hai.

Look China has very strong hold on its own ppl using strong measure since day1 and controlling traffic requires millions of dollars investment. PAK govt doesn't have that kind of policies or datacenters to have own control on apps. It requires huge investment in millions of $$ to build something from scratch.

I'm from IT sector. Building their alternative is the easier part. Marketing and bringing audience and scaling it is a bit difficult. Count me in. (I can join as Frontend or fullstack developer) Lets built something for the Muslim community. For the financial part, my friend has an courses app with 2000 daily active users his cloud bill is 20-40$ per month.

Its not about making making alternatives of like facebook and instgram or twitter its about data all these big companies have huge amount of data E.g Google has huge database thats why its more successful than others and the data come from audience its very difficult to convince people to left google or join our search engine Anyone can create other platform but problem arise on building an audience
