In Houston house rents is low and other items like groceries / restaurants prices is same like in New York , but Houston life is completely boring life I mean you can't feel like you staying in America .

People living in boring places like boring places. Those who live in busy vibrant cities can not compromise city life. Thus, New York is best if you can afford it. If you have a strong career and get enough income based on your salary or business, New York will be the best option for you. Of course, you can retire in the cheapest cities or less crowded cities like Houston (boring). If you are young then you must enjoy the cultural difference and diversity which is only available in New York.

For your professional and business growth, NYC is amazing. I achieved phenomenal professional and personal growth in NYC without knowing anyone there… hated Texas professional environment as it was very lazy and a lot of work politics at a well renowned global company, lifestyle is also very lazy. I ended up moving back to NYC area after 12 months.

Having lived in Houston, Atlanta, Chicago and NYC. I'd recommend Chicago or Atlanta. Atlanta is very beautiful with warm weather and a pretty decent Muslim community. Chicago is home so I am bias towards it. It has a lot to offer and quality of life is very high. Only problem is weather. Winter can get very long and depressing some times.
