The real hero of KNPH is Atul. 1. He pays for everything: Sonia's party, the cruise, Rohit's album, Rohit's concert, Raj's comeback concert, etc. 2. He is a platonic friend to Sonia. (Edit: see long explanation below) 3. He's seemingly uncorrupted by his father. Edit: He's NOT a simp. That's the point of being a platonic friend! He never tries to hit on Sonia. Atul invited Rohit on the cruise simply because he noticed Rohit/Sonia flirting at her birthday. (If he was simping for her why would he pay 10 grand in advance to ensure Rohit came?). When Sonia tries to flirt with him at the Christmas party, he never leads her on. Sonia was the one that used him to make Rohit jealous. And the next day when they are missing from the ship he is actively trying to find them BOTH and informs the captain. He helps Rohit arrange the album/concert just so Sonia's dad would accept their marriage. (Again, if he was simping for her why would he help them get together?). Atul’s father fired Rohit, and here he is trying to help him get back on his feet. When Sonia meets Atul again, he doesn't turn her in to the cops/her father. He automatically believes Sonia's story without question and helps Raj (who is literally some guy from New Zealand he's never met that looks like her ex). How many friendzoned simps are that trustworthy? Rohit is dead, at this point Atul has no obligation to be kind to Rohit's friends/family or Raj. He successfully sets up the cameras to help Amit identify the killers. And in the end, after finding out his father was a corrupt smuggler/killer and was murdered by Sonia's father, he still attends Sonia's engagement. Atul was being a good friend throughout the movie to Rohit, Raj, and Tony not just Sonia. He seems to genuinely want all of his friends to be happy and helps them in any way he can.
