Great comparison. Should note that Quizizz also has a teacher-paced option, which I use all the time. One of the best features of Quizizz that wasn't mentioned is the "Tag Topics" option, wherein you can associate a question with a certain topic that you study in the class, such as "multiplication, fractions, Pythagorean Theorum, nouns, pronouns, sentence structure" etc. Fabulous feature! Also, and I don't know if this feature is available in Kahoot! but in Quizizz, you can create classes and put your students in those classes, then assign quizzes to the classes. And finally, the new interactive lessons feature, wherein you can export a quiz to make it an interactive slideshow is the real game-changer.

Mr. Cook! I bring greetings from the Virgin Islands of the United States, St. Thomas to be precise. As a high school teacher in the ESL program, I have found both to be good platforms. I have used Kahoot several times with my students and they loved it. My only setback with it is students can look at others on their phones and see what answer is chosen so that they can choose the same to ensure they are correct. I like their theme music, especially the one for Halloween. Pretty creative there (although I don’t celebrate it). I’ve never given homework through it because it requires the app to be downloaded. But it is a good platform for review and challenges the students to be really competitive for the top spots. The ceremony in the end is epic. As for Quizizz? Well? I was sold tremendously on this one. I have been using it for grade boosters (optional assignments given to students to bring up their grade point averages) and homework. What I love about it is the automatic grading and the scoreboard. It shows me who is the top student despite the number of students with a perfect grade of 100%. The background music is smooth and the memes are hilariously motivating. What I didn’t know was the option of read aloud until this video. That will be very helpful for my English Language Learners. The power ups are amazing. We’re talking about immunity and 50/50, not to mention double points. What is also new to me is the ability to email the reports to parents so they can see their child’s progress. I’m a big fan of parental involvement. Hands down, Quizizz will be used much more than Kahoot! for me. This fall, we’re doing virtual teaching. Here’s why I find Quizizz to be very fitting. The students are at home, working at their own pace and challenging themselves to be on top. Since power ups and the shuffling of questions and answers are available, it makes the system more competitive and fun. Because we’re using Microsoft Teams and Schoology, I can assign something on Quizizz to my students, set a deadline, allow them to try multiple times (unlimited), and reward the top five scorers with a custom made schoology badge that can benefit them academically whenever they trade it in. This serves as a motivationally competitive adventure. I sincerely thank you for posting this video. You have gotten my mind on the move to bring creativity to the virtually educational world on my side. All the best to you sir. P. S. My apologies for this novel of a comment. I’m just sooo excited 😊

Great video...but Kahoot and Quizizz would be used differently. With Kahoot, at least with my usage is used for content review. Kahoots are in my opinion really easy to make quickly and make the content piece somewhat more visual. Great tool for small groups. It also works great through Google Meet in online learning. Quizizz integrates with Schoology and does seem to make a Quiz seem more like a quiz albeit a fun looking quiz. I would use Quizizz just for assessments not so much for Kahoot.
@MrCooksCorner4 жыл бұрын
These are valid points, well spoken. From a personal standpoint, I often see students just mash a color on Kahoot as soon as the choices appear, hoping to get the quickest points. It all depends on how you roll it out and establish routines with these programs. 👍🙌

If I'm being totally fair, I wouldn't compare the two. Although people CAN and DO use Quizlet in that way, it's not really the original intended purpose of the platform. Just started using Quizizz coz I have big classes and it's pretty underwhelming, the students going through it by themselves. Just here looking to see if there's a button I'm missing to make it live and interactive together, shame to find out there's not 😮💨 Kahoot wins for sure

You can make it like Kahoot, that you all go through the questions together, with no power ups and it’s just like Kahoot! But In my experience the music is more suspenseful than Kahoot

@@Rullbiskviit Really? Where's that setting?
@Rullbiskviit2 жыл бұрын
@@toniiah Unfortunately I’m not really sure, I’ve only seen some of my teachers use it. But according to quizizz help centre in mode selection page should be an instructor paced mode. I suggest you check on advanced settings in the mode selector just in case if you really want no power ups and open multiple tabs and test it and see what different buttons do. I might reply later with where to exactly find it.

I watched a video, it should appear when you click the desired quiz “host a live quiz” then under the button should appear some options including “instructor paced” click on it and you’re ready to go

Good question! I'm not sure hacking Quizizz is a thing, but let me know what you find out!
