Kol Mikaelson's Savage Girlfriend I hope Chris confirms it, several times in season 1, Julie had us all believing that Kai will return, the question I’m left asking is if he will as we all know return as the psychopathic villain or will he play the unlikely anti-hero and help save his nieces Josie and Lizzie from doing the merge? Obviously, he won’t help unless they free him from the prison world, part of me thinks the worst thing he could do is turn Josie and Lizzie (Josie most likely) into a vampire-witch Heretic like him.

Spoilers! He would've gotten much better if ANYONE saved him from 1903. How abandoned he must've felt when it turned out that his own coven didn't care to get him back? Even position of a coven leader didn't give him any anchor in society. And he was a good leader! His beloved sister betrayed him as well. He wished her happy life and would've kept his promise but she didn't care he was abandoned again. Then, for the third time, he got massively screwed by Katherine. And his own nieces would also be very fond to leave him in 2018, so he scerewed to not be screwed.

No, merge is important that's how u transfer the magic but due to kai's time being in prison World he and Lukas were about same age but they were not the orginal twins that's why kai needed jo's magic but not required the merge because it's already happened
