My problem isn't that Ocean Dub claimed Bardock made the technique. With what a methodical and tactical man as Bardock was, I can see him being innovative enough to create techniques. What I find so stupid to needlessly further the comparison between Goku and Superman is that they claimed in the Ocean Dub is that Bardock was scientist. Lame. Bardock was a brilliant "fighter" who used superior skill and ingenuity to prevail in battle.

So many people claim this technique is invalid. I'll never understand why. Vegeta had the skill and natural ability to produce the power ball and control the transformation. Hell, this transformation is nowhere near as powerful as their other transformations, but those are considered valid.

the reason why its invalid is because it cuts the saiyan power level in half when producing the power ball. Plus like Paragus said in DBS Broly movie, it should only be used as a last resort. The reason for that is because some saiyans, (IE Gohan and Goku being prime examples and the only 2 we know of for this), Have little or no control over their saiyan instincts, hence why Gohan and Goku went crazy in their great ape forms. Vegeta's great ape form is an exception to this rule because he had created an ARTIFICIAL moon with his own energy. And according to some sources (though unconfirmed) we can assume that Vegeta is able to control it because he is a saiyan of elite status, had a high level of training done to gain control, and can be assumed he has turned great ape before.

Plus, you know, Vegeta trained to get control of his great ape form, something no one else has done that we know of for sure *IN CANON*. 2, not unlike how the Kaioken bites Goku in the ass. 3, how is that a point? Like, Goku wouldn't win if he didn't have the Kaioken, bud. Also, YES, Vegeta would've won without the great ape form because Goku had already broken himself with the Kaioken x4. If Veheta knew, the fight would've been over. 4, It's not a contrivance if Toriyama had used it in the first arc of Dragonball, the first tournament arc, the Saiyan training arc with Gohan, and with Gohan again when he fought Vegeta. Also, he never used it again because his tail was cut off 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ But I agree. Toriyama be ass sometimes. Straight up ass.

In fact, I'd say it's more likely not true because Vegeta was looking for the Earth's moon first, as though he was ready to use the transformation through natural means. I think it's simple: Vegeta can just control his ape form (my guess it's related to training, possibly not unlike the training he claimed to have done to rid himself of the weakness of getting his tail grabbed).

I think it's because Vegeta's tail never grew back in GT. He needed Bulma's Blutz Wave Machine in order to turn into a Golden Great Ape, and then Super Saiyan 4. Even then, the machine didn't make his tail magically grow back.
