That’s not what I hear at all. I hear triumph. Self love. Self care. Yes, I hear that the little girl was badly hurt, but her current self is in a better place, and she’s taking care of the hurt, scared little girl inside of her. She’s telling the little girl that she’s safe now, and that everything’s going to be okay. She’s wrapping the hurt little girl in love in the form of this song. She’s going to be okay now. That’s what I hear. It’s so beautiful. To be so vulnerable, she must feel safe to tend to the emotional wounds and heal.

I get it, but consider that this song may be a journey through her inner child work. I may projecting my own mental health journey onto her, but that’s what the emotion and lyrics are saying to me. She’s telling the little girl she was that it’s okay, this older, wiser version is in control now, and there’s no reason for the little girl to be hurt and scared anymore.
