So this is from my understanding and the answer to those who dont know the man here The man here is from a game called ‘House Hunted’ and his name is Maison Talo, he is a house realtor and hes not human. Hes an actual house. He brings in people/ advertises people to go inside the house hes selling (in which the house is his real, physical form.) to eat them. So in short he lures in people a ‘house’, locks them up and traps them. Slowly digesting them until they die. The girl here seems to be the player/ MC of House Hunted. She had just moved to the uncanny valley, but based on the events from this video it seems like this wasnt her first visit and shes been dying and dying because of Maison. Everytime she dies, she lives again and starts all over again with her luggage and looking for a house. Maison approaches her, lures her in the house, etc. after dying, she just comes back to live again. But it repeats like a loop. However she doesnt realize that. One day, she realizes/ remembers how shes been dying because of that realtor, and tries to run away from him/ rejecting his offer to go inside the ‘house’. But she fails and dies again. She then gets revived again, gets approached by Maison, but it seems like she didnt resist this time- instead giving in. Maison was surprised ofc, but he let her in the house. He tried to consume her, but he didnt feel satisfied like he normally does. He doesnt feel entertained- nor amused like he usually did while killing/hurting MC. We see his regret at 1:11 - 1:27 especially at how he tried to smile at her but she remains emotionless. So, at where MC makes a phone call (Im not sure, but maybe she was trying to ask for help) but Maison sees her and tries to stop her. Now, Im not sure where the gasoline came from (1:37) and where MC got the fire, but it looks like MC burnt down the house, which is Maison’s physical body. Now that I think about it, I feel like MC making that phone call was a distraction so that he doesnt even realize theres fire going down at the house. So, when Maison tried to stop her by pinning her down- he starts coughing blood(?) and realized that MC was trying to kill him (not only because of the fire, also because of the fact MC literally stabbed Maison’s lure/disguise) It looks like he was pretty amused and tried to hug MC/ show affection. During his kidnapping of MC, it looks like he also got attached to her. Once Maison was weakened enough for his house doors to open, MC took the chance and left him while he was dying. I hope this made sense.

ALSO!! sidenote, the string/ rope behind Maison is the connection between him and his lure/disguise. The origin is well… The house. Which is Maisons actual body. At 1:47 it seems that MC may have cut that string/ rope with her knife while Maison was hugging her. At 1:50 , those tentacles or those wiggly things around Maison are from the house itself. UPDATE: I just realized the thumbnail of the video is the infinite sign along with Maison and MC, so I may be right about the loop theory.

I think Maison began to feel something for the MC, the lyrics of the song are linked to the video, he doesn't feel like something is right after killing her 1:11 (this isn't bad but it's not quite what I really want) or making her feel sleepy 1:27 (like he usually does in the game once she's inside) (Edit to add: One of the Game's endings is Maison regretting having to eat the MC after she was so eager to buy a house, she was the only one showing real interest in buying a house, Maison explains how much she will be missed and how he'll think of her, maybe in another life they can meet again) The part where she's talking on the phone is maybe also part of the game where the MC talks to the department owners asking about why the hell is her department still locked, the song in this part is Maison saying "Obey me, don't ignore me, don't go away" And then, maybe at the end, Maison feel some kind of strong bond or love for her that he gives her the decision of staying by his side or leave, yet MC only waves goodbye, this is her time to live and keep going on with her life (until she mets John Doe, at least) Now, House Hunted is a prequel game, maybe MC should not die, since she has to meet John Doe later on, maybe that's why the loop is going until Maison lets her go (the place is called Uncanny Valley, anything can happen I guess)

ik its been 7 months but those characters are from a game named House hunted, which is KIND OF (not rlly) the sequel (or i think it is) of a dating sim called "John doe" which is horror/weirdcore-esque, same for House hunted, the man's name is Maison Talo (basically "home/house"(wihout talo) in french" ) and he's a special type of of creature, he's basically a realtor, and also he is the house he presents to you, he's supposed to lead "customers" inside the "home" (aka his real body) to eat and digest them, so thats why he has a weird cord on his neck, that supposedly has to be going down his suit and down to his leg, it reattaches him to his body. And i think that music video is a ship with (YOU) aka how the creator/characters call the player, instead of y/n, and honestly you should both either watch gameplay or download yourself (its free) John doe, and THEN House hunted, it feels more continuated to play/watch the John doe game, (Both are on Itch.io if needed) and then look for house hunted

I'm not firmilar with this game but I found myself feeling very uncomfortable throughout the entire video with the overall possessiveness of the man and the fear of the woman. Him hanging on to her even as she's unresponsive triggered a deep feeling of resentment and distrust for me. I honestly don't know if that was the goal but this was really well made and art that makes you feel something is a definite sign of skill and good storytelling. Update: I watched a playthrough of the game. This is REALLY good.

I first thought this was a video about manipulation and abuse, the endless cycles, or some twisted sort of loop; It turned out, this is about a game called House Hunted- (something that was noted several times, however I can't read Japaneses, so only in hindsight did I catch that). (Game Spoilers!!) And it _is_ , to an extent, about looping. The main character, aptly named You, moves to Uncanny Valley and is trying to start their new life in an apartment. There's an issue with it, however, and the character at some point in each route comes across Maison Talo, the self proclaimed Number One REALTOR in Uncanny Valley! There is only possibility in which you survive; Neglecting his offers, especially to go inside the house, no matter what. The others lead you to a certain doom of being digested in the Living Room as Maison settles you in to digest. The sickly sweet smell and hot humid air of the house's guts puts You to unconsciousness. On the next route, the dialogue changes in subtle hints. The Bright Red Blazer is now a BLOOD Red Blazer. You is nauseous when they see the house. Something is wrong and You can't put their finger on it, but their instincts are screaming. The second, and further times they fall to their fate, Maison talks to You about hunting, and how he will miss their company- but one simply must eat, don't you know. I adore how this animatic caught so many of these details. I watched it several times before knowing about House Hunted, and it was incredible and beautiful, up to interpretation. Now that I know what it all means, it's all the more so in different ways. Even the most precise of scenes are described in these images, the way You is pinned and the living room surges up to swallow them. However, remembering so clearly, the ending, and the chance to burn the house to the ground, to fight You(r) fate, is a choice we never got in the game. I sincerely appreciate the hours and amount of work that went into this piece of art, and the story we're told. It's investing, and honestly gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your stance and achievement with us!! Sidenote; Dokuzo is a Japanese word that I've found, in this context, to have three possible meanings. Scraps Scum of the Earth Piece of Shit And I really love the different angle each of these meanings offer. Also, the diagetic timing in this is under appreciated.

@@chetahmoon2009 Sure thing! Sorry about the late reply, life is crazy ^^ Narcissistic, manipulative, and abusive behaviors are first subtle. They make it hard to avoid, especially as, when they become more evident... they're still inescapable. Guilt, stress, threats, physical barriers (money, inaccessibility, isolation) keep the victim from going anywhere but where they're kept by crueler, stronger hands. The simultaneous co-dependency and dreadfully, _beautifully_ animated emotion on both ends (tears, smiling, attention to one another's appearance.. empathy, guilt, hunger, carelessness...) made me think of how vicious these cycles tend to be!

La verdad este video lo encontré desde hace tres días atrás y voy a decirlo ¡tu estilo artístico hace ver mejor al juego de lo que de verdad es! Sentí todas las implicaciones de una relación tóxica (y si ya ahora sé de que va el juego.) Voy a decirlo que a pesar de todo tiene una sensación agridulce, (la escena del abrazo derrito mi corazón :"u ) pero estoy feliz de que la chica escapó. So I have a bit of a theory. Obviously, the protagonist realizes she's in a time loop. But I haven't seen anyone talking about whether Maison realizes that or not, and I think he does. I think he just takes longer to realize it. Whether he knows it explicitly or just has a feeling, I'm not sure. But I think that's why he suddenly becomes so attached to the protagonist. In the game, if the player is receptive to Maison's offers from the beginning, he'll actually show regret over killing them, saying he appreciated their company and enthusiasm. He even tries to slow the digestive process so they can spend more time together. So once he realizes he's in a loop with the protagonist here, that sliver of connection would quickly grow. His regret would intensify, explaining why he hugs her after she's already dead. And when she appears dead-eyed and unresponsive, he still tries to connect with her by giving her a smile, but when she doesn't smile back, he starts crying. And once Maison recognizes that the protagonist keeps returning to the house *despite* obviously knowing she'll be killed, he might even believe it means that she harbors an attachment toward him as well. Which might explain why he doesn't seem to mind her attempts to kill him. Regardless of who's killing who, he's just happy they're together.
