I just noticed, or maybe it's just my imagination but aside from the improved and added levels and the upgraded game mechanics, the dev also changed the duration of the effectiveness of almond water so it became a necessity to drink it every now and then because you lose sanity quickly (As seen on the stream on how much Kaif needed to drink versus the previous gameplays of the same game). I found that very reasonable and amazing for an update too. It is a very meticulous addition. Really, kudos to the dev of this game. Will be looking forward to SR's play of the full version of Escape the Backrooms.

i think the reason why they had to drink almond water way more often might be because they decided to play on normal mode instead of easy mode in this playthrough (easy mode removes the sanity mechanic all together and only requires 1 person to make it to the exit)

From what I've heard, the developer wants to make it where at least most of the levels from the wiki are on here. He also plans on adding random generation for the maps. He wants to make this game a full Backrooms experience and I just love that.
