【INTRODUCTION】
In a world plagued by threatening creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in the
Japan Defense Force to defeat them.
“Let's wipe out the Kaiju together.”
Kafka pledged to his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Over time, life circumstances forced them to
go their separate ways and caused him to abandon his lifelong ambition.
He found himself employed by Monster Sweeper, Inc., a professional cleaning company that
specializes in cleaning up the aftermath of Kaiju battles. Meanwhile, Mina Ashiro is now the
Captain of the Defense Force’s 3rd Division. As it stands, he is currently unworthy of fighting
Kaiju alongside her.
At work, Kafka crosses paths with the highly motivated Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s undying
determination to join the Defense Force leaves no room for failure. His perseverance reawakens
Kafka’s ambition of standing next to Mina as they protect humanity from Kaiju together.
A dream frozen by time, thawed by a burning promise

Don't actually know if the opening is by Production IG, but I would be cautious before claiming it to be. The style is quite different from what they usually do, and anime openings are not always made by the studio behind the rest of the show. A great example would be the Jojo openings, which were outsourced from David Production to Kamikaze Douga.

I mean... The youtube channel is "TOHO animation" so this might be a clue on who did this animation 🙃 (though even without the opening, the anime does have a huge quality to it. Especially the OST)

@@LPCelllule TOHO is a distribution company, basically, when the higher ups decide to make an anime they make a contract with a studio, in this case Production IG while TOHO does the distribution, selling it to TV-Stations for local broadcasting and to streaming services. TOHO is when it comes to these companies one of the largest there is and does most of their deals for western distribution with Crunchyroll, they also have a financial stake in the production, having paid a part of the animation costs. Other Production Companies that have a play in the production of Kaiju No.8 are Shueisha, they own share rights to the Manga with it having been released in Shōnen Jump+, which is owned by them, TV Tokyo, one of the direct broadcasting distributers and Khara, which is an animation studio that partly funded the project but is not involved in the actual animation process. Something like this is rather common, you might have seen that Production IG is listed on the credits of shows like Attack on Titan, which they did not actually animate for, they just had a financial stake in the project.

They hold a share in the overall production the same way Shueisha does because of their share rights to the manga, which was released in Jump+. The Jujutsu Kaisen Openings are also on TOHO's channel, but they very clearly were made by MAPPA. So to reiterate, in this case TOHO is not directly involved in any of the animation, but they are involved in distribution and marketing, as we can obviously see by the fact that this is a video uploaded by them to KZbin.

Had no idea there was an anime being made for this. I stopped reading the manga a year ago bc of life reasons but im so hyped to get back into it. Ik its a story thats been done 100 times before but kaiju 8 does it well. Cant wait to see all of it animated

I like the fact that the ED is more livelier and chill while OP more Badass and serious. And the visuals even show it. Love it. 10/10. Would listen to both again.
