Chainsaw man has a different opening for every episode. Basically I love it when a show does something other than just shoving in a bunch of clips from the show, spoiling everything.

The main reason why i skip most openings is because of major spoilers. I don’t know why most anime studios do this, it’s as if they’re making the anime primarily for the manga readers and the non manga readers can F themselves. Which is 1336 - 1573.... In other words, Kaiju have existed in this universe for at least hundreds of years. The scientists just have kaiju captured for study is all. Their origins are still mystery in the manga as well.

Don't actually know if the opening is by Production IG, but I would be cautious before claiming it to be. The style is quite different from what they usually do, and anime openings are not always made by the studio behind the rest of the show. A great example would be the Jojo openings, which were outsourced from David Production to Kamikaze Douga.

I mean... The youtube channel is "TOHO animation" so this might be a clue on who did this animation 🙃 (though even without the opening, the anime does have a huge quality to it. Especially the OST)

@@LPCelllule TOHO is a distribution company, basically, when the higher ups decide to make an anime they make a contract with a studio, in this case Production IG while TOHO does the distribution, selling it to TV-Stations for local broadcasting and to streaming services. TOHO is when it comes to these companies one of the largest there is and does most of their deals for western distribution with Crunchyroll, they also have a financial stake in the production, having paid a part of the animation costs. Other Production Companies that have a play in the production of Kaiju No.8 are Shueisha, they own share rights to the Manga with it having been released in Shōnen Jump+, which is owned by them, TV Tokyo, one of the direct broadcasting distributers and Khara, which is an animation studio that partly funded the project but is not involved in the actual animation process. Something like this is rather common, you might have seen that Production IG is listed on the credits of shows like Attack on Titan, which they did not actually animate for, they just had a financial stake in the project.

@@LPCelllule TOHO is only the distribution company, they were not directly involved in the animation of the show but only in its indirect production process. They hold a share in the overall production the same way Shueisha does because of their share rights to the manga, which was released in Jump+. The Jujutsu Kaisen Openings are also on TOHO's channel, but they very clearly were made by MAPPA. So to reiterate, in this case TOHO is not directly involved in any of the animation, but they are involved in distribution and marketing, as we can obviously see by the fact that this is a video uploaded by them to KZbin.
