I don't think they ever confirm what his shots are but one suggestion people think it might be is compressed air bubbles. Thus why no bullet or discharge is left behind, yet it pierces their suits and shields. Mina is absolutely a fantastic display of the power scaling of the suits ans weapons. And this episode shows she does think of Kafka as much as he thinks about her. Kikoru and the other recruits really do anything amazing job of making the old guard feel weak on a scale comparison, but then we see the new kids are all running out of stamina as the second phase of the fight starts. I love that they already foreshadowed Kikoru's melee strength before you get to see the Vice captain show what a melee fighter can do, then let Kikoru use a second improvised weapon to reinforce how much of a tank she really is. Reno is the man, but Iharu has a power all his own. He really is the embodiment of that competitive spirit. He absolutely gets better by trying to keep up with Reno and the others. The Platoon leader cougar is one of my two fan favorite under used female characters, with the blue haired titan being the other XD You might end up wanting to do 8 as a atand alone episode then 9-10 but they would also work well as a trilogy like this set. Can't wait for your reactions to 9-10! Keep up the good work dude.
