Great video really interesting. Have visited Kairouan and it is great to see what it looked like all those years ago, especially the water resevoir, it's just filled with rubbish now and yet was so amazing.

un vidéo remarquable. remarque: la séquence de la mosquée des sabres ou de sidi amor abbada a commencé par une vue générale de la façade occidentale de la grande mosquée sidi okba. merci

Why is the clothing so different back then?

People usually would dress according to their ancestors those big hats for example are from Andalusian refugees heritage, the chechiya hat (fes) hat is local with the jellaba. the clothes are similar to mexican as well . as is the architecture too . As for the long white cloak that’s local too typical of north Africa. as for the women with trousers and cropped blouse that’s anatolian style. As for the men’s black cloak that’s arab style . Anyway north africa has been a mixture of people and one can see that in the various different styles of clothes indicating the origin of people. Today they no longer wear that , they adopted western style , only Arabs of the gulf are still hanging to their traditional clothing and rightly so it’s so befitting!
