कैसे बन गया धर्मराजिक स्तूप का खंडहर? जानिए इस व्हिडिओमें

धर्मराजिक एक विशाल बौद्ध स्तूप है जो तक्षशिला क्षेत्र में स्थित है। ऐसा विश्वास है कि इसका निर्माण सम्राट अशोक ने तीसरी शताब्दी ईसापूर्व में कराया था। इस स्थल को दो मुख्य भागों में बांटा जा सकता है- स्थल के दक्षिण में स्तूप है तथा उसके उत्तर में मठ। धर्मराजिक का स्तूप तक्षशिला संग्रहालय से लगभग 3 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर है। इसका महत्व इस तथ्य में निहित है कि बुद्ध के शरीर-अवशेषों में से एक को वहां दफनाया गया था। इसका नाम धर्मराजिक, धर्मराज से आता है, यह नाम बुद्ध को दिया गया जो (मार्शल के अनुसार) सच्चे धर्म राज थे । यह भी माना जाता है कि 'धर्मराजिक' शब्द 'धर्मराज' से लिया गया है, जो कि मौर्य सम्राट अशोक द्वारा इस्तेमाल किया गया एक शीर्षक है।
