Many people are trying to find a better way to lose weight, but what if it were as easy as writing down what one eats? In a Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research study involving more than 1,600 people, those who kept daily food diaries lost twice as much weight as those who kept no diaries. In this video, participant Julie Satterwhite of Portland, Ore., explains how she lost 55 pounds over 18 months-and one of the main reasons was keeping her food journal. Study author Victor Stevens, PhD, explains that it doesnt really matter if you keep your diary on the computer, on paper, or in your hand held device, what matters is that you write down everything you eat.
