209.2. An activated ability with a loyalty symbol in its cost is a loyalty ability. Loyalty abilities follow special rules: A player may activate a loyalty ability of a permanent they control any time they have priority and the stack is empty during a main phase of their turn, but only if none of that permanent’s loyalty abilities have been activated that turn. Interesting that it says permanent, and not planeswalker... seems pretty clear to me that the rules support creatures having and using loyalty abilities? the rules even go out of their way to say "Normally, only planeswalkers have loyalty abilities." without forbiding non-planeswalker permanents from using them.

@@andy4an They do indeed. See Luxior, Giada's Gift for example. Of course, Marvin would have 0 loyalty at first so would only be able to do the +1 and 0 abilities before it could do the minus, but it would work.

@@serenolopez-darwin1975no, that card is horrible. One kaito in the deck does not at all justify putting it into your deck. Also if you got kaito on the field you are probably winning anyway

Double leyline is rough it seems like this set is really bomby and there's a lot of dud rares that aren't amazing in limited.

Probably would have just splashed for the mutilator. You had enough fixing, and with two bookworms and so many different ways to manifest dread your card advantage would have been insane. Imo your black pool wasn’t good enough to justify cutting all the synergy your green blue pool had.

Seems like the commons and uncommons are worse this set so splashing a third color to have reasonable power may be necessary more often

i only count three activated creature abilities in his pool kaito and two mana dorks personally, i'd play it, because it looks very fun with kaito but if i were trying to win I think i'd cut it because it doesn't seem like it's going to do much.

@NumotTheNummyYT nah that's not valid - you'll play the green common manifest card, which is literally just a 2/2 for 2 that maybe flips, but not the rare 2/2 for 2 with occasional insane upside? Explain the logic.

@@justinwallace3204because manifest is much more consistent, and he also has 2 of them rather than the single Marvin. To get that insane upside you have to draw into both Marvin and Kaito both of which he has 1 of. It would be a 2 mana 2/2 for 95% of the time and that's just not amazing. He needed more synergy to justify running marvin.
