For people that doesn't understand why other people would actually pay to see hologram singing and dancing, please let me enlighten you. But this might be a little long so I hope you bear with me :D *(I'd appreciate it if you would upvote this so this will remain at top of the comments for any newcomer to read.)* First off this is Vocaloid's concert, and *Vocaloid long story short is a program with voice database inside where you can make songs by putting lyrics and melodies into it*. Of course it is incredibly complicated as it has many parameters (like velocity, dynamics, breathiness, clearness, opening, gender factor, portamento timing, pitch end and ect) so its not as simple and easy as you think, Anyone can practically buy a Vocaloid and make their own songs or cover songs. Users of Vocaloids can directly contribute by compose songs for any vocaloids, and by now (year 2014) the number of Vocaloid songs alone reach up to *HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND*, and yes I'm not kidding nor do I exaggerating things. Thier creativity doesn't come from a single mind like every other "real" artist, but rather is a collectives from their fans. That's why as long as their community is alive, Vocaloids will be alive as well. I'm even confident that Vocaloids such as Miku will keep going even after 50, or 100, or 200 years from now as she and any other Vocaloids are not shackled by reality. By now you should get my point that by being "not real" is their strongest weapon. You might argue that their voice is terrible and you don't like it, well I have something to tell you: remember that Voclaoids are just a PROGRAM. So if you hate their voice its their "settings" or "parameters" that you actually hate. You will realise this if you listen enough number of their songs. Even though they are sung by Vocaloids, they sound uniquely different individually. This because each song has different composer, and each composer has their own unique parameter setting. So my point is don't hate Vocaloids, but hate the composer, like you don't hate guitar in general just because there is a guitarist you hate. Given enough effort and luck, you will surely find your favorite composer through out thousands out there :) So the "thing" you see on that stage is not just a hologram, but a personification of creativeness coming from hundred of thousand of Vocaloid fans (And I should add that actually their fans count up to millions world wide). In a sense it really is a concert from Crypton Vocaloid fans, to their fans, and by their fans. Thats why they are not there simply to see the marveloussness of hologram technology like you think, Its more than that. I would also like to add that if you search on Google: *"Why Hatsune Miku popular"* you would find an article from *LA Times Magazines*. It will give you more detailed and unbiased information around Hatsune Miku than me. Lastly, whether you agree or disagree with me, please leave me a comment. I'd love to chat with fellow vocaloid fans and make any newcomer (or probably hater) to see vocaloid the same way as I do :) P.S.: Damn, this is longer than I thought would be :P -Written by Clemens Cave -Edited by Ratio Kun *Ratio Kun / Kaito S Speaking here* Also if you are new to the Vocaloid I will welcome you, please tell me what you like otdislike about the concert or the Vocaloids in the comments, I would like to hear your opinions. I will make a new post relating to more about the actual Vocaloids and some examples of their voices.

Yes VOCALOID have millions millions (the rock: and millions) of fans globally worldwide all over the world and thus thanks to them not being real they set unrealistic standards that humans will never (and the rock means never) be able to beat ever! VOCALOID release new songs and new albums full of new songs EVERY SECOND OF EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY OF EVERY WEEK OF EVERY MONTH OF EVERY YEAR! no human can top this! EVER!

I recently went to a con with my friend, and I kept seeing Hatsune Miku merchandise. I asked my friend, "I keep seeing this girl, what anime is she from?" "You've never heard of her? She's a real pop star in Japan. Kind of." "What do you mean 'Kind of'". "Well, she's a hologram, but performs in concerts like any other pop star." "........... You're fucking lying."

The best concert of Miku? come on! Too much light, the part when she speak and don't have sound, the voice is weak, etc. The others concerts are better...

eduxel I would honestly disagree with you, I believe this is one of the better concerts out there. The lights are not a problem to me, but I do not like the stage design. I say its one of the better concerts because of the song list. This concert had a LOT of great songs in it, this is also the second crypton concert which they featured KAITO and MEIKO which is a plus to me. I would say that 2013 Magical Mirai is on par with this concert.

The reason this concert/party is the best one out there is because... 1) 3 hours long 2) Feats. all the 6 main Vocaloids 3) Great light shot 4) The holograms are epic lookin xD 5) Live band behind them. 6) With the holograms they disabled re sample so they didn't look so computer-ish. 7) Holograms have no frame blending setting. 8) 1:58:08 - 2:46:48 Just WOW... 9) KAITOOOOOOO 10) LUKKKAAAAA 11) UR MOOOOOO000OOOooo000M 12) that one guy in that pause who screams at the top of his lungs 2:33:33... I think that pretty much sums it all up ._.

iSmashFlash They're not TECHNICALLY 3D, because they're just being projected onto a screen. Everything else is completely true though.
@ismashflash5910
@ismashflash5910 9 жыл бұрын
Gehrig Harris Um dey appear 3D. The misconception is that us humans are 4D. 1D is a dot, 2D is a line, 3D is a square, and 4D is a cube, 5D is something weird but yes the Holograms are 3D a square. You can think whatever you want because the majority of people think that they are 2D so nobody's blaming you but really they're 4D.
@marvelousTUD
@marvelousTUD 9 жыл бұрын
iSmashFlash I really hope you're trolling. 2D is anything flat, and 3D is anything that isn't (that's simplified of course) so no, these aren't 3D. And no, humans are not 4D.
@ismashflash5910
@ismashflash5910 9 жыл бұрын
Gehrig Harris Bro... -sighs- I'll re-explain. The Dimension theory hasn't come to a halt into witch is the right perception. I PERSONALLY think that the 1D = Dot/Nothing 2D = Line/Nothing 3D = Square 4D = Box/Cube But you're allowed to think whatever you want.

Ultimaniacx4 You are right that the concert is not my doing, but you see... Not everyone has enough money to spare to buy the Blu Ray disk, or even a Blu Ray player. Also we have many concerts from Crypton yearly if you haven't noticed. Crypton is a company that does earn a lot of money not just from the concert BluRays; they get the majority of their income from the softwares that they produce. So if everyone somehow magically had Blu Ray players and bought the disc, it would give more money to Crypton sure, but the concert schedules wouldn't change... Also "And you suck.", very mature. Also there have been 4 official Crypton Vocaloid concerts this year alone! 4 concerts that are fully animated with a live band, do you know how long it takes to prepare for just 1 of these concerts? Also I am not proud that "I think that this concert is my doing", I am proud that this fandom for showing so much support. Also I am happy that the work i did is appreciated by almost everyone here too. Also if Crypton did not want this concert to be shown on youtube they could report it and get it removed.

Pretty new to this vocaloid thing, but I really like most of the music. And seriously, if someone said had walked up to me and said "singing hologram" before I knew anything about Vocaloids I would have been like "THAT'S FREAKING AWESOME!!" Anyway, a Vocaloid character doesn't get tired, instant costume changes, never messes up lyrics or gets off key, never gets old, is immune to thrown objects *cough beiber cough* can be at multiple concerts at once, and won't ever turn slutty *cough Miley cough* or get into drug possession scandals. *cough everyone cough* "Humanity is something to be surpassed." (And yes, I did just quote from the Art of War. I'm a book reader, get over it.)

Thank you so much for posting this video! This is what made me fall in love with Vocaloid music and specifically Hatsune Miku. I ended up buying the DVD set myself because the video was taken down from KZbin in my country some years ago. Now that I'm living in Japan I decided to check out this video after thinking about it today and I'm glad that I'm able to access it now but when I was living in America at that time it was no longer available for people to view. I didn't know who Hatsune was before I saw this video about 8 years ago. Thank you

....I just watched this entire concert just now....I was a fan of Vocaloids before but now, I'm completely in love with them. Beautiful singers with beautiful voices, singing beautiful songs and just looking beautiful in the process. You don't even have to understand the Japanese language to understand the beauty of these songs it just comes naturally. These days you really don't see a lot of RL singers pull off a concert like this. I mean there is a few amazing ones out there. But these Vocaloids especially Miku, Rin, and Luka are just absolutely fantastic. I even cried at the letter song and the final encore song. It was just that beautiful. Crypton is an absolutely amazing company for bringing this into existence and In the end, They may be fictional, but they put a whole lot of emotion into their songs to the point where you feel like they're real. Thank you Kaito S for showing this to the world on KZbin. Really hope I can see one of these concerts one day.

I also want to say, that while it would be hard to justify, I would totally go to a concert like this, and I'm not a party person at all. Miku just feels alive, even though I know she isn't, and I'm really, really glad that vocaloids exist, because they are people whose only purpose is to sing to you and make you feel good.

Im not too sure how many other musicians are out there but im just going to say how I came across this. I watched an effects pedal review based on Hatsune Miku and thought it was pretty funny and cool. The guy discussed that its a real thing and is done live so I had to check it out for myself. I have to say coming from a musician's point of view this is quite cool and entertaining. The music is pretty great and the musicians are very very talented to be able to do what this band does. If you're also a musician im sure you can agree with me how difficult it would be and how many rehearsals it would take to get this whole thing down pat to be played live compared to albums. So im quite inspired by this and I think its a blast! Also coming from an anime and all in all Japanese culture fan kind of view just what they can do with technology and music its quite amazing. Im a massive fan of this hologram stuff and I actually first saw holograms used in live music watching a live performance of a band called X Japan where they brought footage of their long since deceased guitarist Hide (bless his soul) one of my favourite videos and acts of all time and they pretty much took all footage of him from another version of a song they played and put it as a hologram on stage. If anyone wants to see the video im talking about please dont hesitate to send me a PM and ill happily leave you a link to it :D Again overall this Vocaloid stuff. I think im definitely a fan, its quite interesting and entertaining and just adding again coming from a musicians point of view, the musicians are just incredible to be able to pull this stuff off.

+khaig131 I found out through a react channel, it amazed me that they had a "virtual singer" along with live musicians. I believe the band is my favorite part of these concerts, without the band it wouldn't be half the concert that it is. The best part is, if you don't like a couple of the musicians that are in the video (although I know you didn't say that), there are other bands that have performed for these concerts. This band, MKP39, has been playing for "Hatsune Miku Live Party" concerts since 2011. Before that, there was The 39's, a more jazzy sounding band. In 2013 and 2014, there were two totally different bands that joined for the concert series "Magical Mirai". I love finding out which musicians they'll be using for the next concerts. So far, Ryoichi (drummer) is the only consistent musician they're using. Just figured I'd add info. I totally agree.

For people that doesn't understand why people would actually pay to see hologram singing and dancing, please let me enlighten you. But this might be a little long so I hope you bear with me :D (And I'll appreciate it if you would upvote this so this will remain at top of the comments for any newcomer to read. Kaito S-san please? hehe :P ) First off this is Vocaloid's concert. And Vocaloid long story short is a program with voice database inside where you can make songs by putting lyrics and melodies on it. Of course it is incredibly complicated as it has many parameters (like velocity, dynamics, breathiness, clearness, opening, gender factor, portamento timing, pitch end and ect) so its not as simple and easy as you think, And Vocaloid is an open source (as I understand it), so anyone can practically buy one and make their own songs without to fear copyright infringement. In other words her fans can directly contribute to compose her songs, and by now (year 2014) the number of her songs alone reach up to HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND, and yes I'm not kidding nor do I exaggerating things. Her creativity doesn't come from a single mind like every other "real" artist, but rather is a collectives from her fans. That's why as long as her community alive, she is alive as well. I'm even confident that Miku will keep going even after 50, or 100, or 200 years from now as she is not shackled by reality. By now you should get my point that by being "not real" is her strongest weapon. You might argue that her voice is terrible and you don't like it, well I have something to tell you: remember that Miku is a PROGRAM. So if you hate her voice its her "settings" or "parameters" that you actually hate. You will realize this if you listen enough number of her songs. Even though they are sang by Miku, they sound uniquely different individually. This because each song has different composer, and each composer has their own unique parameter setting. So my point is don't hate Miku, but hate the composer, like you don't hate guitar in general just because there is a guitarist you hate. Given enough effort and luck, you will surely find your favorite composer through out thousands out there :) So the "thing" you see on that stage is not just a hologram, but a personification of creativeness coming from hundred of thousand of her fans (And I should add that actually her fans count up to millions world wide, and only a portion of her japanese fans is actually active in composing her songs). In a sense it really is a concert from her fans, to her fans, and by her fans. Thats why they are not there simply to see the marveloussness of hologram technology like you think, Its more than that. I would also like to add that if you search on Google: "Why Hatsune Miku popular" you would find an article from LA Times Magazines (there is a lot of others but this one is my favorite). It will give you more detailed and unbiased information around Hatsune Miku than my amateurish writing. Lastly, whether you agree or disagree with me, please leave me a comment. I'd love to chat with fellow vocaloid fans and make any newcomer (or probably hater) to see vocaloid the same way as I do :) P.S.: Damn, this is longer than I thought would be :P

Clemens Cave i listen to melodic death metal (mostly) and fucking hate all the pop music house dj crap. but ... dot dot dot. this is fucking amazing. i am a metalhead, i am a gamer and i love anime. and i like this music, some people just think it's crap because it's generated on a pc, and i kind of agree with it, but the comunity and the sound of the musicz9and the amount of time people spend making this) makes me love it!

On another note. If we can make all this possible now with robotics and holograms and such. Imagine what we can do in 10 years, in 20? Ladies and Gentlemen, in the near future Miku is about to become more real than any of us could possible imagine, we are talking pre-programmed androids that have the VOCALOID Synthesizer built in and perform concerts in the flesh (so to speak) and not on a screen. I for one, highly anticipate this day with great happiness

I know, but it IS borderline hologram. I know its an image projected onto a special kind of glass screen in such a way to give the impression of 3D. I'm just saying that we are living in a time when our beloved virtual diva might not be just virtual anymore.
