Whitewater rafting the beautiful Kaituna River near Rotorua, New Zealand. Grade 5 rapids including a 21 foot drop over Okere Falls, the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall!
The rafting company is Wet n Wild Rafting Rotorua.

Back in December my wife and I quit our jobs, packed everything up, and hit the road for 5 1/2 months. We travelled to New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. This was Day 7 of our journey.

Hi this is Pete company owner of Wet n Wild Rafting Rotorua, we stopped customers using go-pros as we were finding customers were more interested in being video rather than listing to instructions and following comands for their safety. We do offer photos to purchase after the trip and we don't do the hard sell act ;) its a service we are happy to provide, let the staff know you may want photos and we will take over 100 photos of you during the rafting adventure, other companies usually only do about 50 pictures per trip

You guys have to make money to stay in business and pay staff. Safety is paramount and a GoPro will be Kaituna food anyway. Best wishes from California!

I went under that bridge before terrifying I had to get up that brick but where you started or I would’ve died

did you have to take your own mount for the GoPro or do they provide the helmets?

They had a helmet with a mount, but they don’t let people wear GoPros anymore for what they say is “safety reasons”. The only reason they let me wear one is because all other people no-showed and we had the whole boat to ourselves. Call ahead before picking a rafting company to make sure they’ll let you wear one.

Yes, everyone wears a life vest that will keep you afloat if you fall off the raft.
