This level really exemplifies why I love Kaizo Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, it's clear that those hacks were made by someone who truly knows and loves the game. While it does get "enemy spamey" at times, it's not difficulty for difficulty's sake, their author always tries to do more with less. Removing a few elements, blocking a door, locking a moving platform in place, all those things are very small but well thought out changes that make the levels take a completely different direction. (Apart from a few spots that needed balancing) you don't go "Oh, what, that's so unfair", it makes you go "Oh no way he did that, I can't believe that's even possible, that's genius". And then you get to the levels that, while still keeping up the difficulty, are here for the experience, like the comet observatory. After all you've gone through in this game, you end up at the comet observatory from SMG1, but as an actual level, how great is that ? You can't help but love the dedication to not only make it a playable level, but also to make it one of the hardest, all for that final moment getting the Grand Star. As far as SMG1/2 hacks go, the KaizoMG series is one of the best.

With better pathing you can get the ones that require the spring mushroom last so when you collect the last purple coin you’ll be directly on the star

This is my first time learning that the cosmic clones can even copy the movement of Mario’s power ups! I didn’t know about this until watching this hack! Honestly the levels poeple can make in these mods are both insane but great fun all the same espite there being some complications along the way! This was fun to watch! It’s a great job these daredevil run stars are at least generous with the time limits! Otherwise they would be near impossible to complete!

Ok this is legit an actual crazy level idea, the comet observatory filled to the brim with enemies, not to mention there also being black holes literally EVERYWHERE which shows the gist of "abandoned" the fact you have a limited time, cosmic clones chasing you, and have to collect 100 purple coins. Ive only played the normal kaizo galaxy 2 and beat it with over 20,000+ deaths and 300 game overs. (Yes it took me that long im not kidding) Sorry for the long paragraph, but i just love challenging myself to beat difficult challenges

For The Ultimate Challenge of the Abandoned Observatory Galaxy, Combine 5 Comet Power Stars (Speed Run, Daredevil Run, Cosmic Clones, Fast Foes, and Purple Coins) and Collect 100 Purple Coins, and you get rewarded a Grand Star. The reason why you get rewarded a Grand Star in The Ultimate Challenge is because of how difficult the level is.

It is to make the level more difficult and it is a mix of all the “comet” level effects as we have the “speed-run” effect, the fast foes effect, the daredevil effect, the cosmic clones effect and the purple coins effect
