A truly impressive work by juz. I speedran this for a short while and ran it at SGDQ 2019. Draws inspiration from a ton of hacks and feels like a lot of good hacks mashed into one.

Invictus is probably the most "watchable" hack imho. It's easy to follow, has a show don't tell style and has great color design. Every level feels distinct, too, with gameplay elements introduced earlier making an appearance again in later levels as well (like multidirection Thwomps, or screen wrap mechanics). I also remember the time when Dode made almost daily new WR uploads of this. :D Good times, 2018 was a killer year for Romhacks with both this and GPW2.

GPW2 was released February 14, 2019, but you're right that within a year of each other there was Invictus, GPW2 and Quickie World 2, to name a few great hacks

5:49 just a little thing here. If you make those 2 jumps with a normal jump instead of a spin jump, you can just keep running forward without worrying about the first rock. It aligns perfectly with your speed. I think it has to be with the scroll that makes the boulder spawn ? How can it be that the type of jump you make affects the scroll ? Dode, help me xD I was wondering about this for almost 2 years and still got no idea :( PD: Sorry for my bad english.
