I was so lucky to have him as an animation teacher in the late 90s. He was as kind and gentle as he was brilliant. I regret never contacting him after graduating, but then again he taught for over 40 years so he wouldn't have remembered me anyway! A great artist and a great soul. R.I.P. Dear Mr. Pindal.

I had no idea until today! I accidentally wound up looking up Joan Cusack (I first looked up Joan from Animal Crossing and was suggested Joan Cusack), and then I saw on her IMDb that she was the narrator for Peep (2004), and found myself watching the 1988 short films and now I'm here!

So this is how the PBS Kids series originated! The PBS Kids series originated as a series of shorts on 1962 and again in 1988. This is the very old 1962 version, where the main birds are all male, but they have all slightly almost the same designs as the 1988 version and the series. Chirp is the one noticeable, because he has a slightly smaller beak than the 1988 version and the final series.

Peep show was remade in colour into Peep and the Big Wide World in 1988, and then spun off into another show called Peep and the Big Wide World in 2001.

The characters have some major design differences from the much later PBS Kids show. For example: Peep has 3 toes on each foot, whereas in the show, his feet are only made of one line, meaning he either has one toe or no toes. His 3 "chicken hairs" are also seperated. Chirp has a much smaller beak then in the show, and is male here and female in the show. His/Her toe amount also decreases in size, just like Peep. And Quack's feet appear smaller and more webbed, like a real duck. The areas between his toes are more lighter and semi-transparent. He is also purple in the 1988 version.
