Interesting how Kajol mentions that she was called by Mani Ratnam to be casted for Dil Se. Well she was wrong. Mani Ratnam in his biography (written by Baradwaj Rangan "Conversations with Mani Ratnam") mentions that he was planning to make Alaipayuthey (which was later remade as Saathiya) in Hindi first, with SRK and Kajol in the lead. The movie was even titled 'Mast' and was supposed to be set in Mumbai's train stations. He later scraped the idea and made Dil Se with SRK instead, and Dil Se was not for Kajol. Then he went on to make 'Mast' in Tamil as Alaipayuthey, which became the cult film that it is now, and then Alaipayuthey was remade as Saathiya in Hindi with Rani and Vivek. Well, ironic that Rani who is Kajol's cousin acted in Saathiya and SRK made a cameo appearence in Saathiya. Small world!

Aravinda Dahanayake not true. You can’t compare Sridevi’s stardom to Madhuri’s. Sridevi rules Bollywood during the 80s and 90s. Even though Madhuri was popular during the 90s, Sridevi was the highest paid actress. Furthermore, Sridevi was successful in 5 different industries and her career was longer than Madhuri’s.
