I remember this part so well. At the time, me and my siblings were like "no way, kakashi died there, he's a major character" then one said "but remember they killed jiraiya too" and I was like "damn. I suppose you're right. Also, there's no bringing back to life in Naruto unlike dbz" then couple episodes happened "wth Hinata too?!" I think this is why the Pain arc is my fav. A lot happened like konoha got destroyed and Naruto meets his father, a lot of people died(for a couple hours lol). And Konoha finally accepted Naruto in the end of the arc.

I was in college when I watched this! My classmate had classes while I had maybe 3 hours of vacant time until my next class so I stayed in my classmate's apartment and watched Naruto Shippuden on her tv. I stopped watching after this episode because it broke my heart. I switched the channel to a random news channel to clear my mind but the news showed that a huge earthquake hit Japan and a Tsunami followed, and that they estimated casualties to be in the thousands. It was such a sad and memorable day.

Tsunade is not the front line shinobi. She is support type and a goated one at that. She basically gives 10 times the chakara to everyone she has contact with. The front liners were Asuma, Kakashi, Kurenai, Shikaku, Yamato, Gai, Hyuga clan, Kiba's clan and Nara clan. Kage level are only Kakashi and Guy, Yamato is no where near that level. At this very moment, Kakashi was the spearhead of the Konoha attack force, and not only that, he was super important individual in nobility. Son of White fan, favoured by lord 3rd, student of 4th Hokage, leader of Anbu elite squad, wielder of the only Sharingan and Mangekuyo Sharingan, feared by all 5 nations, Itachi's part sensei, Sasuke and Naruto's teacher who also happen to be extremely important individuals... was also in good graces of Fugaku - and Kazekage (Gaara) and was the primary threat to Pain after Jiraiya. Sorry for yapping so much, but Kakashi was fking insane in importance to the Konoha.

@@apex9806 ikr,it required heavy plot for pain arc to work,first out of no where,asura path saves Deva path from kakashi (remember if Asura path which was already destroyed somehow didn't get in the way,then kakashi alone would be enough to beat paths of pain as Deva path,and asura path were the only paths that stood a chance against jonin,maybe summoning one too but that path no where near asura or deva,one of them got beat by konohomaru lol,and to be fair it's only Deva path as that shit went stronger then 7 tails Naruto)and then guy and his team was out of the village lmao,guy seventh gates would been enough to beat any of them

Chouji isn't mentally strong enought to be a shinobi. You can stop the mission to cry for someone's death in the middle of a war. Kakashi had to sacrifice himself because Chouji wasted so much time when he could just run away before that Pain path comeback. Shikamaru lost his father in the middle of a war and said that's no time for crying. Naruto discovered about Kakashi's death and continued.

It wasn't necessarily him connecting that it was Kakashi's dad, it was just the idea that he connected the idea without seeing anything except a non-detailed silhouette. Kakashi Gaiden was never animated and we never knew what happened to his father (unless you read it), so just correctly assume something like that before the face was ever shown..
