I don't remember, maybe its filler or something, but during Itachi flashbacks, when Itachi was in the anbu, they showed Guy using the 5th gate. And he probably was around 19-20 years old at that time. So I think its safe to assume that he can use at least 6 gates in the part 1 at the bare minimum, maybe 7, and part 1 Kakashi can't do anything to 6th gate Guy.

For what its worth, guy ultimately did surpass kakashi, his father was right. yes dms might be stronger, but dms is literally obitos chakra/power given to kakashi for a moment to help them defeat kaguya since obito was dying/dead. Guy became a complete monster without needing to recieve any powerups.

He had prep time and was setting traps for Jigen who was already getting weak due to his body not being able to contain Isshiki's true power

thats very true. Even lee had some of the 8 gates in part one why wouldn't Guy know them all at that time. they always made a point one the show that the after effects are risky with is why he does not use them unless he really needs it.

It's disingenuous to even imply Guy didn't have access to the gates in part 1, regardless of whether he used them. He *taught* Lee the gates. Maybe Guy couldn't use all the way to the 8th, but there's no world where he couldn't at least enter the Hidden Lotus (3rd+) if not beyond Lee (5th+). Edit: He was called the Noble Blue Beast since the Tsunade retrieval arc, and that title comes from his appearance in the 7th gate when his aura (evaporated sweat) is blue. This is confirmed when, as he goes to use the 8th gate, he says something along the lines of "Time for the Noble Blue Beast to become the Red Beast." Bare minimum 7th gate in part 1.

I’m going to say Guy would come out on top in most instances, except for when Kalashi had DMS. Especially at the point Guy is introduced, up until Guy rescues Kakashi from Itachi, Guy had a massive edge. Itachi did retreat, and I don’t think it’s fair to say Itachi was just tired at this point. Itachi is a tactical fighter, yet he immediately relies on MS anytime he’s threatened. I think it’s fair to say his exhaustion would be due to his own incompetence, and if he’s unable to fight Guy after just one use of MS, there is no way he’s beating him, especially since Guy is specifically trained to avoid Sharingan. We know Kakashi isn’t the best ninja in the Leaf due to the fact he can’t hold a candle to Tsunade or Jiraiya at the point of those data book quotes, so they must’ve been talking about mission success rates. I’m also quite confident Kakashi would be incapable of combating Kisame, because Kisame is a near hard counter for Kakashi in the same way Guy is a 100% hard counter to Kisame.

The flame bursts nigh instantly on spot Itachi focuses on, so Guy needs to keep moving the whole time or not stop to talk. Itachi could also use a clone to lock Guy into a fight, then use it. Trust me Itachi is dangerous, that's why Sasuke needed so much prep to fight a sick and weak Itachi lol. I wasn't talking about 8 gates though, 8 gates Guy stomps. 7 gates is debatable and only with a lot of prep.

One thing will correct you on is that in some cases guys talent is often within how moderately muscular he is Ofcourse if someone with proper muscle mass tried the eight inner gates what they would need to focus on would mainly be the proper flow of chakra as the chakra points within the anime are a uniquely close match to the nervous system of the human body this gets risky from the 5-6th or 7th gate as it can cause a bit of stress but it’s return is still amazing you can sweat a bit more it’s even possible your chakra points may be hard to stop without serious force if need be from a byakugan user for me i definitely believe guy may have not needed this so his body is able to keep fit properly although during the arc with the sound shinobi he does probably get moderately stress out as hes almost punching people through walls this could be comedic forshadowing as it’s definitely something a bit out of the ordinary kakashi does on occasion question how guys strength is super high when he’s excited he’s able to punch people through concrete that’s gotta hurt a bit with the shrapnel from the concrete as well.

Nobody knows for sure when Guy was able to unlock all 8 gates (like when he had that capability) but I’d certainly say that if he taught Lee, he can presumably open up at least 5-6 at that time so I’d say Guy wins with 5-6-7 gates against Kakashi at all points in the show, up until the war arc when it becomes clear that Kakashi can keep up with that speed with Kamui. Then at that point Guy has the 8th gate and can with with that against any version of Kakashi except for MAYBE DMS Kakashi. That is my input

Guy vs Kakashi: Part 1: Guy. Even freaking Itachi retreated & told Kisame not to underestimate him. And yeah Itachi could've used Tsukiyomi atleast one more time cuz he did use it on Sasuke right after. Also Guy never used any Gates in Part 1, so the databooks are most likely comparing Base Guy vs Sharingan Kakashi Early Shippuden: Guy wins but Kakashi can surprise him by Kamui since he didn't know of it. But 7th Gates Guy would honestly Blitz Kakashi. Mid Shippuden before War Arc: Also Guy. Here Guy has knowledge of Kakashi's Kamui and all he needs to win is go into 7th Gate. There's a reason Guy was absent during the Pain Invasion. War Arc: 8th Gates Guy Solos Kaguya Fight: DMS Kakashi slams. It's kinda unfair for anyone to go up against DMS Kakashi in the verse since it's so OP and Haxed out. Post War Arc: Obviously Kakashi Now, I based all these fights in way that Guy will use all of his Gates. Cuz if you go by the Databook comparisons it really doesn't make sense for Kakashi to be on par with 7th or 8th Gates Guy. However I will say that Guy will probably need atleast 6th Gates to beat Kakashi in Part 1 & he'll need 7th Gates to beat Kakashi in Part 2. Six seemed biased for some reason especially since the databook stats are a bunch of BS. Like Neji and Hiruzen are comparable according to the Databooks lol.

Guy is pretty much always stronger than kakashi, he beats him on 5 gates or higher no matter where in the story we are. It's odd that you would bring up the double MS, that's not a permanent power up for kakashi, that is plot BS empowering him. At no point during part 1 or 2 except Flashbacks is Guy inferior to kakashi. Honestly think he takes the rivalry so serious is probably his way of cheering kakashi up after his dad died. Itachi was also weakened from using the Tsukuyomi, but even then all he told Kisame was to not underestimate Guy. Kisame lost both times to Guy handely, the only reason Guy used the higher gates to be 30% clone and kisame himself was because he needed to end the fight fast. the 30% clone was drowning his team, and the real kisame was trying to get vital information out to the enemy.

Nice analysis but I disagree on the point that Kakashi would have killed Kakazu with Kamui if Naruto and the rest of the team hadn’t showed up. What kakashi meant was that if they hadn’t showed up, he would have resorted to using kamui in sending kakuzu’s attack (a fire and wind combination attack) away. I have to disagree with Guy not being able to use the gates in part 1. Sure he didn't use them but there are three points I'd like to make. Number 1 would be him teaching Lee the first 5 gates. Sure he theoratically doesn't need to be able to do it but I think Lee looks like someone who is more of a visual learner and prefers practice. Number 2 Guy actually got taught how to use the gates by his father, who taught him after Guy failed to enter the academy. His father was also able to open all 8 gates. Number 3 Guy was nicknamed "The Noble Blue Beast" in the Tsunade retrieval arc referencing the blue aura emitting from the 7th gate. All of this should be evidence enough that Guy can use atleast the first 5 gates from the beginning of the series and when the Tsunade Arc takes place he used the 7th Gate atleast once. If we then take into consideration that the 8th gate kills him we can assume that he is able to open all 8 gates but didn't do it because there was no need for him to do so. This is also the reason why he wasn't in Konoha during the Pain Arc as he would have been able to beat Pain using all 8 gates. So I think Guy > Kakashi up until Kakashis gets his last power up.

@@Noblesavage31 But if your opponent’s goal is simply to defeat you, and they force you to kamikaze, how is that not also as much win for them? It’s not like Guy or Kakashi here are the ship to the other’s aircraft. 1v1 means it’s a one for one equal trade. A draw.
