A year has passed since the Russian military blew up the Kakhovka Dam. In addition to civilian casualties, large-scale destruction of infrastructure, and billions in damages, this war crime led to the shallowing of the Kakhovka Reservoir. Large areas of land that were previously underwater are now overgrown with trees and other vegetation. These changes have also affected the course of hostilities. Despite the detonation of the dam, fighting has not ceased in this part of the front. The situation is further complicated by the proximity to the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, which wasoccupied by the Russian army in 2022. The defense here is held by Ukrainian Border Guards. We will show, how their work has been complicated by the destruction of the hydroelectric power plant, what they are doing now against the advanced positions of the russians, and what the SBGS drones are recording on the territory of the nuclear power plant in this report.
