Thank you so much for your kind words. 😊🙏🏻 How I got to playing violin is a long story. But I will definitely tell you that it was love at the first sight. I come from a remote village in Kalimpong, West Bengal. A Canadian priest father Edward McGuire came to my village and opened a school for underprivileged children. He personally handpicked the children who were poor and I was one of them. On the first day of school I was really crying and wasn’t letting my mom go. The toys they gave me to calm me down didn’t help. I saw a teacher playing violin and as soon as they understood I was captured by it, they gave me the violin to distract myself. I was fascinated and went on trying my hands on it. I was so lost that I didn’t realise that my mom had left and even come back to get me. This was my first encounter with violin and since this day it has stayed my forever friend and has become my true voice.

It’s called a shoulder rest. It there to support the violin to rest on my chest! It’s an accessory that most of the western violinists use.
