Kala Roundwound Strings For A Traveling/Ukulele Bass

How is that mahalo bass working for you? I've been drooling over a Kala California, but at that price range, I can't afford or justify the expense. I've found the mahalo and looks great, but hard to find any reviews or comments on quality, usability and long term ownership. If you have positive feedback, this might just be my Christmas gift to myself this year

I've been really happy with it. I just stumbled into getting it but I'm really glad I did. It's not a bass I use a lot so it was harder for me to justify paying more. It's got a nice solid feel and the piezo pickup is super sensitive and clear so it RUMBLES. I have to tune it more than a usual bass but that's because of the rubbery strings. But they do get better as time goes on.

I am super happy with it. It's not a bass that I use that much so I'm glad I didn't pay any more. But I found that it is really well made and sounds great.
