I know some great and classy ASU fans as well. I don't personally know any terrible ASU fans. You'll find bad apples in every bunch. Fans that are inebriated generally don't have a positive effect on a fan base. BYU generally has fewer fans in that condition. I seem to see a much larger percentage of fans in that condition at game time in visitors stadiums than I do at BYU home games.

The greatest thing about this matchup is the fact that the media considered both of these teams to be near the bottom of the conference, and yet here they are, competing for the conference championship.

I think they’re doing an amazing job this season. Undefeated, just one of four teams in the Nation! And now 9-2-still tops in the country for season records. I’m so proud of them. Now they just need to apply the wise advice shared by actor Michael Caine: “Use the difficulty.” Use it to your advantage. That’s what our team did in the second half. Now they just need to use it for the last two games. And even if they don’t, they’ve still had a stellar season and Cougar fans should all be proud of how these men played. GO COUGS!!! ❤🏈

There are a lot more important things in life than going 13-0 or winning a playoff. These college kids are getting coached by a man who understands most of them are going to be doing other things professionally than football. Life isn’t always perfect, you don’t always show up with your best game, and you need to learn to adjust and bounce back. 10-2 or 9-3 is a great season overall. Not many teams with 1 loss or fewer, so is every coach failing their teams and their fans? Grass is always greener, we’ve got a pretty good crew here at BYU. Been a very entertaining season

I am an ASU Alumnus who returned to ASU for a PhD in late middle age. I was at the ASU-BYU game. I was very impressed with the battle to the end by BYU. I am old enough to recall the BYU championship of 1984. My HS football coach in rural AZ showed the team a picture of the trophy when he had visited. We had a young assistant coach who was often lampooned by the teen players for having been the backup quarterback for New Mexico's 48-0 loss against BYU - lol. So, I remember when BYU was in its 1980s prominence. But those days are clearly back. BTW - the BYU fan base was great. I left the seats at the interception, and most fans leaving were from BYU. I was alone with my gold ASU shirt among a sea of blue shirts and did not experience any vitriol. BYU fans were very civil. By contrast, I attended the FSU-Miami game at Miami Gardens, FL when the scandal-ridden Jameis Winston was the quarterback and FSU was undefeated. The vitriol by fans on both sides at that FSU-Miami game was off the charts -lol. Great game by BYU yesterday! I was glad to attend.

BYU was fortunate to get wins against Oklahoma State and Utah. I didn't see a team that belongs in the CFP when watching the Cougars today. When you're an average team, you'll probably be about .500 in close games. BYU was underestimated at the beginning of the season but overrated going into the last one third of the season. Sitake may be a nice, sweet guy, but he is NOT a “CHAMPION!” One example is his reputation of hiring friends and not being able to fire them when they need to be. His lack of detail and precision is another problem (one simple evidenced of this issue is his continual problem with “wasted” time outs). Thoughtful question: when did BYU last have an exceptional QB? if you say Z Wilson (we would disagree with exceptional), but didn’t he opt first for Boise St, then saw the writing on the wall & then came to BYU??? ETC., ETC!

ASU hit BYU in the mouth from the beginning. Skattebo was too tough for BYU. Cougars can't play football for 30 minutes in a 60 minute game and expect to win. As a Cougar fan, I'm getting used to the "November Slide." I'm not sure why the offensive coordinator at BYU cannot see that Retzlaff does not throw the ball well to the outside. He misses open receivers when they run routes to the outside. He throws interceptions to the outside. He is very good at throwing intermediate passes to the middle of the field. Also, BYU needs to stop throwing passes behind the line of scrimmage... the Cougars are poor at executing those plays on a consistent basis. At this point, a loss to Houston to finish out the regular season wouldn't be surprising at all. The Cougars have hit the wall.
@DGZGSGEGIGKG4 күн бұрын
He threw a TD to the outside. I believe it was Phillips on the left side.
@mjulkunen3 күн бұрын
@@DGZGSGEGIGKG OK. And he also missed a wide open receiver that had beat his defender by 3 steps for a TD. Just because a QB completes a few passes to the outside doesn't mean that he's consistent at it. If you look at the successful drives, the majority of the completed passes are over the middle for BYU.
