What to say about this young brilliant musician. His vibrant rendition keeps you in a different world. Unassuming alabanai & kalpana swaram in different dimension. Wow what an energy. His swara prastharam in certain areas reminds me of yesteryear genius Madurai Mani Iyer. Though I am in Hyderabad & regular to listen the concerts live. This year we are deprived coz of Covid 19., but I thank the organizers of Kalasagaram for giving us the feeling of listening live music by posting tremendous concerts on line.

What an amazing concert. No words to express Abhishek Raghuram’s creativity in Kalpana swarams and neravals. His music is par excellence and I find him a cut above the rest of the other Carnatic musicians. His co-artists were also brilliant in this concert and I think it turned out to be a great concert. May God bless him and all the other artists too and may they achieve greater heights in Carnatic music.

I was joint secy of kalasagaram Secbad for almost decade & half till the golden Jubilee year 2917. Golden Jubilee year Abishek Raghuram sang. Was an outstanding concert. During my tenure, I can recall a few memorable concerts like legend TNS, TVS,Sudha,nJayashri, Lalgudi siblings, Kanyakumari,b Sanjay, T M Krishna, RAGA, & so many more.Abishek Raghuram n is a prodigy who has graduated from monthly concert in Kalasagaram to Annual festival. He can traverse all the octaves with ease. His alapana, rendition of kriti mostly take from anupallavi, neraval, swarams are out of the world. Manodharma is extraordinary. Reminds me of TNS in his prime. Nadaswara Bani following like GNB & TNS. Sruti & Layam in perfect sync. A legend in the making. God bless. He should be decorated with Sangita Kalanidhi at the earliest considering his popularity & genius.

What a great concert! Very interesting interpretations of raaga, sahityam, and swaras by AR. Seems like he has a fresh outlook in this concert. Happy and delighted to hear a new version of AR. Also his voice at the upper sthayi has been refined to a point where its so pleasant to hear even at the highest octaves. The clarity and sur of his voice reminds me a lot of Kishori Amonkar and Bade Ghulam Ali Khan (esp at the higher octaves). Fantastic finish too with Hamsanandi, there were some Hinsudtani style taans to round the concert off. Hope AR explores a bit of more of these taan flourishes in the main pieces too. At higher speeds, this is not an easy task to achieve, I hope he adds this to his voice repetoire.

I have been listening to ch Abhishek from 2013...you are right. His handling of Behag is uniquely and unimaginably brilliant. I have a little more to say. What applies to Behag applies to almost every other raga too !! And once you hear him. You don't feel like hearing any other for quite some time. The test of a good author is.. you like to read his same work again and again. So too with Abhishek's music. I am past my eighties and have been fan of many greats over the years. Needless to say, Abhishek is one among the greats. Regards 🌹🌹🌹

I am hearing Abhishek from 2008.After that season I listen to only Abhishek Raghu ram to enjoy the shear beauty of raga alapana, neraval and swaran.No one to beat him.Why only Behag? Kalyani,Nattakurinji, yamunakalyani,Natakapriya, Khamas, Ranjini,Shanmugapriya,Saramathi, Bindumalini-he is unique and excels.Infact he is too good in all raga alapanai and puts his special stamp.

Outstanding concert. I watch almost daily. Highlight is Idu Dano Thillai in Behag & the thrilling & divine Virutham in Hamsanandi & the kriti SRINiVASA take from Anupallavi. Thrilling accompaniments added zest to the concert. Acoustics were outstanding which added lustre to the concert

Wow, standing ovation, kudos, salutes and namaskarams to this God sent Young Vidwan. What a training ground for the violinist. Mridangam and ghatam marvelled. Accompanists have to reach up to this maestro . Abhishek’s interaction with them needs to be followed by other singers.

Who can expect that a frontline Carnatic musician, in a full-time concert,will keep aside each and all of the usual major ragas and fill the space with Kapi and Behag and do more than full justice ? Both are memorably done. These two along with Hamsanandhi also build a nice bridge between the Hindustani and the Carnatic systems, as their renderings have much in common. Is this a celebration of Papanasam Shivan since a major share of the all-Tamil menu are his compositions? As usual, AR keeps all the accompanying artistes literally on their toes bringing in their best and what is more is very generous with his openeyed appreciation of their moments of glory. A different kind of concert , as pleasing as ever.Thanks.

Can naked children be called nude-ascetics? Only genuine devotion to Sri Rama, who nurtures Tyagaraja, can be the current coin.
