Confused the hell out of me for quiet some time. Always thought the AK's in SEMI sound too much like an SKS. Hope they tweak its sounds a bit more.

I think each gun should have its own unique sound so you can identify them easily. There are other guns I still hear and I have NO IDEA what it is. I also think the AK's current sounds are a bit loud and low quality. The m16 on the other hand is a thing of beauty!

They should sound the same. They fire the same round. I think the barrel length is a tad shorter on the AK's though, so that could be a bit louder.

Of course in real life the acoustics make all the difference in the world. That has more effect on the sound than the caliber. When you're firing out across an open field you wouldn't hear all that. The sound just drifts off into the abyss. Indoors, on the other hand, everything is booming and deafening. I know it's too much for them to have to make it that realistic.
