Kale Harvest | Garden Blitz 2020

A opportunity presented itself yesterday, and so we took full advantage. In roughly four hours time, we planted 75 tomato plants, 600 ft. of sweet corn, 150 ft. of bush beans, and 225 ft. of popcorn. That covers most of our staple crops for the year. We only have the peppers and remaining tomatoes still to plant. #planteveryday #gardenharvest #tomatoes

I was able to sneak in a row of peppers late this afternoon. Now they are calling for floods tonight. You're right: it's either love it or hate it!

Thanks, my friend. We ended up with a whole lot of kale. Ruth is starting a third batch right now. When you heat it up in January, it's like eating concentrated green sunshine. So. Good.

I never tried the Derby green beans I seen them in the catalogs . I have grown a bunch of different types of green beans I liked the Jade 2 they did really good . I'm glad you was able to plant it's looking like it might be a bit for me. I think were getting rain 5 or 6 days out of 7 . Finally warms up and now the rain is holding me back .

Jade would be my second choice, I think. It's also a very good variety. Derby seems to do better at staying upright and not picking up the rust and mud from the soil. It's the taste and texture of Derby that we like best. They are stringless and super tender. Here's hoping the rain cuts you a break! The current forecast is pretty dismal.

@@smallfarmsurvival4026 I will have to try those Derby beans sometime . Looks like after Tuesday the rain stops until Sunday . I hope it dries out by Saturday so I can till .
