It's not that they are dupes or identical, it's that it's all very much the same mauve grey purple vibe that every release the last few YEARS has been from them. Their brand tag line is literally "Makeup On The Brightside" but they haven't done anything bright or colourful since Flowerpunk. I do love that they did pale desaturated blushes BUT they needed to make it more friendly to other skintones, keep 2 or even 3 of these 4 and include just 1 deeper still desatured super cool toned grey toned purple. I'm only a light medium skintone & I think only 1 of these will show up on my skintone & that's just not okay.

Kaleidos is obviously moving in a different direction with these last few collections. Not sure I'm into it but I really appreciate you demonstrating everything 🙂

I’ve been loving how Kaleidos has been coming out with a colorful/bold quad, and then a more neutral quad. Also I think that super pale blushes are a gap in the market in much the same way as super bold blushes were for a while. Midtones have been so common for so long, I would have been disappointed if they had done that.

I'm light-medium, and I don't know if any of those blushes would show up on me at all. That was pretty disappointing for me. I wish there had been more variety, there. I'm happy for the people who love it, but Kaliedos is saving my money for me with this collection.

Thank you for the swatch comparisons! I was one of the whiners in the comments section lol. It's just been weird watching Kaleidos go from Flower Punk to a brand that just releases neutral and purple quads once a year. I'm really into that black gloss, but this is the first shadow launch I'm well and truly passing on. Your swatches reignited my interest in the quads I already have!

I absolutely loved Night of Creation, bought it all, and id definitely buy those 2 quads. Kaleidos packaging is top notch and yet have a pretty great price point.

Those blushes have the same depth of difference as all of the cool tone purple brown shades in all 4 of the palettes. They're all the same, be it those blushes or those eyeshadows.

I think the 2 beige blushes would work well as bronzer/contour on light skin tones. There are a couple things in this collection that I'm interested in trying eventually, but it's definitely not something I'm going to rush out and buy.

I finally went through my collection and got rid of old makeup and stuff iI judt dont use anymore!! That was so hard for me!!! Bc Ive paid for it all. But like you've said before, I want it to bring me joy! I also have alot of Sydney Grace and would rather dupe this collection. So its a hard pass. Pretty but something I just would not wear. However, I did keep all my Futurism pallettes. I took them out of there original packaging( kept the palette, of course) and placed them into my singles to see if I use them more often. None of the blushes I don't feel would work for darker skintones. And I think we are alittle sick of the neutral/cool tone quads. But if they are selling I guess they jumped on the same train with Pat Mcgrath with her multiple pink/mauve colored motherships😂😂😂.

The palettes look different enough from their past quads for me, but I’m also obsessed with a smokey cool toned eye. Venus trap has me hooked and I can’t wait to use it with my cold brew quad from the smokey nostalgia collection. The blushes are definitely not for everyone, they excluded a ridiculous amount of skin tones. That said, I’m fair-light with a warm/olive undertone and don’t like vibrant blushes. Those blushes are exactly what I’ve been wanting and all except the cool pink will be coming home with me.

thank you so much for posting this video. i JUST came from the vet, and had to put my BELOVED fur baby to sleep, and my heart is broken. he was with me for 13 years and was my everything, but i couldn’t see him suffering anymore. i haven’t even been able to watch any videos, but i saw that you posted this, and i wanted to hear your thoughts. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW BADLY I WANT THAT MIRROR, and it sucks because i know people on mercari will be selling it for $100, and i just can’t afford that. i wish i wasn’t on a no buy, because i’d buy the quads, one blush, and allllll of the glosses!!! the blushes look pretty on you!!! elixir looks AMAZING on you!!! i hate the low buy i’ve been on this year, but i’m still paying vet bills and will be for quite some time.

Im in the minority that is in love with the blushes! They're very much in tune with Douyin style makeup popular in the east. It feels like kaleidos is trying to break into or market more toward the Asian market & that's ok! Im sure most of their decisions are data driven & they know exactly what they're doing. Of course most westerners are going to be upset since they started out heavily marketing towards us & used to do color stories that were fun & punchy. Their last blush launch was really decent across tone & depth & does anyone remember their intial face product launch? 😬 That was so bad.

I'm planning to use the Pearl Bliss as bronzer/contour , this is the first time I see a shade like this and I went through so many brands bronzers and contours and blush collections and for years I did not find this, always too yellow, I never wear bronzer because in theory I really even shouldn't but if I want to there was just no shade for me and I feel like this one is the one. We'll see when I try it. And just to explain the two shades looking same, usually the lighter the colour is, the more difficult it is too see it, so it's true that on lot of the surfaces (people skin similar as coloured paper or any other base medium) it will look very similar, best way to understand this without diving deep.into colour theory is to do a similar test with colored pencils on white/black paper. for fair skin people the undertone makes all the difference, trying to think of two darker colours to compare to lets use the same brand the shades Dreamwalk and Extasy, they look more different then these two because they are more saturated but the technical difference is very similar.

That purple eye look in particular is VERY pretty! The super light cool-toned pink blush doesn't look bad, in my opinion, but it's not as flattering on you as the warmer beige shade is. I haven't purchased anything from Kaleidos yet, and I can't say this collection piques my interest personally. The swatch comparisons against the other quads were super helpful, though!

I have noticed a "bald spot" working with kaleidos (and other brands including colourpop) shadows in the crease/outer corner, but always figured it was due to a scar I have there (on both sides no less lol). interesting that you had a similar experience tho! 🤔

I purchased an eyeshadow quad many moons ago when they had it in that slim rectangle pallete. It had this really cool glittery red and the rest neutral tones (don’t know the name). I didn’t like the quality so never purchased again. I like to see what people are talking about when it comes to makeup and what’s new. I don’t follow any hype I stick to what I like and what works for me. Though this collection looks blah in my opinion. That box or the theme they are going with doesn’t match the shadows at all. To many greys it competes with the greys of the previous collection. It would of been cool if they would of came out with there own version of multi chrome’s that would describe the anatomy or the sensual side of people who identify as being a woman. I would of loved that and those blushes wtf! Thanks Linda love your channel and reviews.

I really like the look of the more neutral one, but I had the flowing haze and gave it to a friend because the shimmer was so damn glittery and messy and this new palette looks the same for the shimmer. I also hate that this collection does not look inclusive to darker skin tones really at all except maybe the lip products.

The lip formula is the only thing I’m interested in from this collection. As far as the blushes are concerned - I’m very disappointed in the shade range. I think Kalidos’ thought probably was this as a companion to their VERY vibrant Mono Blush collection- but I think it was a BAD thought. Nothing HERE will show up on a deep skin tone and you’d have to purchase it from a PAST collection. AND - Hearing you tell us what the inspiration was for this, I feel like there was a missed opportunity to do something weird and cool. Edit - and they have proven they can do weird and funky with their highlighters - so I’m a bit confused about the direction of this brand now…

The purple eyeshadow is pretty but I don’t think is special enough to add to my collection. I hair fair-medium skin so I don’t think any of the blushes will work for me. BUT the lip glazes look beautiful! Something that I will keep in mind but not something I will RUSH to buy.

The beige blush is lovely on you. The pink is a pretty color, but it’s entirely not you. Not shockingly, I’m eyeing the purple quad. I’m considering the pink-y blushes, but I’m in more of a bold blush phase at the moment, so I’m not sure I’d use either one all that much.

They already have loads of blushes that suit medium and deeper skin tones. They were actually released first. There is nothing wrong with them releasing soft blushes for fair skinned people. The fact you don't see these blushes often should maybe make you rethink who is actually being catered too most of the time. You make it sound like there is something wrong with them producing something for people other than yourself.

Yeah, I was one of those commenters who was disappointed. The last collection was also ovary themed w a bonus, ambiguous print of a 🍆 in one of the shades. Almost feels like one of the founders got pregnant and got really enamored w the female reproductive system. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can see the quads being great for ppl who find it really difficult to find quality cool tones, esp ppl w fair to light complexions, but I'm surprised they're leaning in this direction more rather than alternating btwn cool and warm neutrals. Feels a bit like Kaleidos wanted to make more $$ stretching out a grey-blurple color story into quads that they could've made into a palette, like Huda Rose Quartz. I also wonder if Kaleidos' main market is Asia bc this collection reminds me of all the other Chinese makeup brands featured in douyin makeup - Flortte, Flower Knows, Florasis. I'm light-med w a warm, yellow undertone and these colors always make me look dead, so easy pass on tbe whole collection. I did just order some lip clays, the Moon Cruiser highlighter, and the purple multichrome liner from them after thinking about them for months, but this collection doesn't interest me much.

It’s a collection for super fair complexion possessing people. Anything darker than an NC25 or Ivory it’s going to look super ashy. If you love it on you- awesome! From a purely color math standpoint- it looked like you were rubbing tinged white ashes on your lids. One of the blushes was essentially your skin tone! At first I couldn’t even see it! Like- I’m sorry. They really missed the mark in my opinion. To me the tones of the blushes are varied enough, BUT I’m that suuuuper picky notice the minute difference ESPECIALLY when it comes to complexion. I don’t do the 5 shades of skin tint but each shade covers like 10-15 shades because…uuuuhh no it don’t. So for me those slight notches of difference matter. However-I’m mega pale! Not Hannah Louis Poston pale, more Kackie Reviews beauty & Hautemess Tom pale. Still! Whhhite. Caucasian. & I’m sorry I hate when brands really only cater to one end of the color spectrum regardless of what portion it is. BUT it enrages me when it’s something clearly designed to work on a paler complexion. We literally- liiiittteerrraaalllyy have so many options. & those with medium complexion have the most range of all. Let’s have more diversity and inclusivity across the whooooole spectrum.
