Bama fans get on my nerves talking bout Bama “overlooked” Vandy like bro shut up and learn ball. Vandy’s time of possession was 42 minutes bro. That’s not flukey and it’s not a hoax. It's really not that hard to see what went wrong. Alabama defenders kept trying to tackle the ball instead of simply putting the man on the ground. That is why Vandy kept getting so many yards after contact. They need to be working on fundamental form tackling all week long. It was horrifying seeing Vandy ball carriers get hit at or behind the line of scrimmage, be allowed to stay upright while a massive scrum formed around them, and seeing that scrum push forward to turn a loss into six to ten yard gain because the Bama defenders failed to simply complete the tackle. This happened over and over again, like some kind of nightmare.

I need my coach to guide me and keep me focused, not be my best friend. These are still kids that need guidance not someone to coddle them. The players are basically in control now and the coaches are basically trying to herd sheep while on crutches and blindfolded. You can be even keel and relaxed on the surface and in public but willing to go scorched earth when warranted.

As a bama fan I feel like everyone has put saban on even more of a pedestal now that he’s gone. You can’t say this never would have happened under saban because NIL has allowed this Vanderbilt team to be miles better than they’ve ever been, and saban was upset plenty of times. DeBoer is media trained and knows how to talk to the press and saban didnt, which made for some iconic emotional rants. But just because deboer seems calm and doesn’t share much doesn’t mean there isn’t as much going on behind the scenes. Never forget the absolute hate saban received from bama fans when they lost to ULM. Questions about the team will only be answered when we see how they respond on the field.
@sheph3rd.Күн бұрын
As for disciplining Malachi, DeBoer never said he wasn’t disciplined, just that it was “handled internally,” which is basically just telling the press it’s none of their business how he disciplines his players. Saban himself avoided harshly punishing players whenever possible but many bama fans seem to be forgetting that side of him. Saban always said he didn’t want to put the players down any more than their behavior already did because that was the medias job, and said this in response to worse activities than a player showing too much emotion on the field. I’m just disappointed in bama fans that think there needs to be a witch hunt on the program whenever there’s a loss. When DeBoer came the fans said they’d give him grace, but most of them lose their cool at the first sign of trouble when the moment comes.

It’ll take Alabama fans getting used to the post-Nick Saban era as long as Kane Wommack takes to adjust his defense.
@JosephOlejniczakКүн бұрын
I can’t believe they didn’t commit to stop the run and put the pressure on the opposing team’s passing game. You’re right, DaBoer and staff need to step up. However, I believe that staff feels terrible and I believe in them.

Guarantee you in 5 years bama losing to vandy will only be a trivia question. No one will remember this. People wonder how good teams lose to inferior teams. It’s the exact mindset as this brain rot comment section and Matt himself have about “THE NERDSSSS” 😂wish people could see how dumb their mindsets are
@Dirty_Farmer_19779 сағат бұрын
Nah, this will be remembered...how can it be forgotten....every year when the Vandy game comes around....what they should do next year is not worry about running up the score...run that shit up 97-0...
@choccolocco21 сағат бұрын
Fact is, they ran an inverted wishbone option offense, and like the wishbone, when stacked and done correctly, it’s hard to stop. Couple that with the fact that defenses rarely practice or play against such an offense.

you said it best. the truth is vandy got in bamas head. there was a play where afterwards malachi moore butted heads with a vandy wr. it was a different game afterwards with guys like sabb, jackson, and moore just playing emotional. their qb played a hell of a game but it’s 10x easier when the opposing dbs are focused on their ego instead of their assignments.

I knew this would happen...first loss and everyone jumping on the "DeBoer ain't the one" train....He doesn't do this like Saban, he doesn't do that like Saban...Well of course not! He ain't Saban! People need to stop comparing the two. If one of the team captains on Defense, who went to bat for DeBoer when he got here to help save the team from leaving, and who cares deeply for this program and it's success is frustrated over a poor performance, and/or a lack of defensive scheme that can actually get stops, and shows his frustration it isnt a discipline problem. The root of what would cause that much frustration is the problem, and thats a DC that brings the same defensive scheme to every game thinking it will have different results. Wisconsin starting QB ran all over this swarm defense until he got injured and their offense went to suckville with the backup QB. Then GA used the same stuff in the second half and would have won had it not been for a lucky interception. Vandy just followed what the others did. If I was a defenseive player being stuck in this scheme, knowing that no matter how much I try, it won't work, I'd be frustrated too after being run up and down a field for 4 quarters by the one team that everyone in the conference is supposed to beat. Fingers need to be pointed in the coaching direction, but to a different coach...DC needs some serious scrutiny. DeBoer deserves better than a one-loss chance. What he does over the course of a couple seasons will tell the true tale.

If bama is worried about this loss still on a Tuesday, youll lose to South Carolina. You'd also be idiotic to put him on the hot seat
