Thanks to Kaleo! - This song has a soulful feel. I love JJ's voice and all the instrumentation, of course. I wish I understood the lyrics better, but perhaps they're meant to be somewhat ambiguous, open ended, or metaphorical.

I think it's quite clear he is singing about his career in the music industry. He's essentially saying he is stressed out, probably has a lot of fake people around him that just befriended him for his fame. That why he asks if they would be there when it all went up in flames. He feels needed, but alone at the same time, even though he has a lot of people behind him they might not be there to catch him if he falls. His "baby" refers to his musical talent, the band, etc

Also, I need to add, I saw a comment explaining the lyrics and they made a good point that the song could be about Billy Boy Arnold since there is a lyric about "Billy boy" but I just assumed that was a filler name. Who knows, I need to research Billy Boy to see if I can find anymore correlating lyrics. I enjoy lyrics with open meanings, but I just enjoy figuring them out the best I can.
