Nice beat and comparison. Front ports really make the difference but even if the hs5 had front ports I bet the Kali would still be more enjoyable.

This is a great comparison, well done. Do you do anything to the mix while editing the video to deal with youtubes compression? In my experience, when I get done editing a video on my local machine, it sounds great. Then I upload to youtube and lose all dynamic range... I have resorted to linking directly to a onedrive folder with the video for certain customers.

Got ear fatigue from listening to the Yamahas from this video let alone live in person… I was considering lp unf for playing digital piano through, or maybe in5’s but considering how close the speakers will be to my piano and myself I don’t think I need more than the lp unf, I’d like them to be nice and musical too for listening to music on also, enjoyment wise, do you think they’re suitable for this?

and the winners are Kali, so close to the original song, listening from adam audio a77v, beyerdynamic 1770 and sennheiser 490, we think kali audio are the best budget friendly speakers in the market! and no speakers available can beat them in this price range. thank you for the great video

I wouldnt say all that, if I was mixing I would use the HS5, its more mid centric, compare to the Kali its almost like the Kali recessed its mid... this is me listening on my HD800 with a Chord Hugo 2 dac

On the Yamahas the bass groove disappeared and mids came forward. If you want to enjoy the music just get the Kali. if you want your mixes to translate get the yamaha

Yamahas are good they just roll off at 100hz so its hard to use them as primary monitors. As secondary's they work

Sorry Compadre... this comparison makes little sense, recording the speakers doesn't really help us to assess how they really sound. Of course I can hear that the Yamaha is more defined in the mids and highs and the Kali reproduces the lows better, but what use is that to me? Even if you own the Yamaha, that doesn't help, because then I would think the Kalis have zero highs and mids... Then I would rather have a detailed description from you of how you experienced them. Your song is dope though

Listening tests like this are useless because no matter what speakers you are using they are ultimately coming through whatever random speakers the end listeners are using not to mention KZbins audio.

If you listen through decent headphones you can get a sense of the soundstage at the point of the microphones and a sense of the general frequency response.

I got you... You liked the Yamaha sound, but it's a comparison against a specific source... The original vs Kali vs Yamaha... Kali was definitely true to the original, therefore a better monitor. There are several speakers you can buy buy very few monitors you truly rely on
