It's difficult to teach spear to oneself, your videos are great for instructional material. Thank you.

Excellent staff or as we call it in Japanese arts jo / bo basic training. Staff is by far my most favourite weapon. This drill is excellent.

The Staff (Bo) is one of mt favorite weapons. Fortunately I've had a bit of training in Yamani-Ryu Bojitsu which actually compliments my Filipino staff work tremendously :). Good stuff!

Very nice! A question, Paul... Is there a reason for the amount of distance between your rear hand and the back end of the staff? Thanks!
@00groove4 жыл бұрын
In the double ended drill, I mean.
@kalicenter4 жыл бұрын
The double end method is typically used for closer distance than single end. The grip between the hands changes according to how much you want to slide or how much power you put into the strikes.

I'm using a somewhat longer version of an arnis, longer than standard arnis length. Surprisingly this drill works and somewhat a bit similar now to longsword striking, weird scenario but awesome

Hello Paul Ingram, what do you think about meditation? Does it has a place in Kali?
@kalicenter4 жыл бұрын
Mimsi Miller I think it’s important. Find the forms and practices that work best for you and incorporate them into your weekly or daily practice. I believe it does. It would fall into the twelfth area of Kali, the healing, fitness and meditation arts.
