Nice! I've been wondering about adapting grappling to a walking stick and haven't been able to find much until this vid. How extensive does Kali goes into performing locks with a stick? Also, are their any specific throws incorporating a stick?

that lock at around 07:10 - do that on the outside of his thigh , while applying pressure, twist your stick and rub it up and down ( - transforms into a throw) i HATe that pain when i am the receiver ;-) best regards

I had a very gungho training partner and that neck lock hurt. I, love training with a partner vs a dummy, but take care and heed Paul's advice about that neck lock.

Would love to see more Dumog stuff. For example, how might a Kali guy defend against a BJJ guy in different scenarios, etc? Thanks as always.

I’m afraid these locks although painful are not going to damage anyone and wouldn’t work on any bjj fighter (like me) The wrist one will just hurt and nothing more and can be escaped easily The choke doesn’t look very practical either although ten out of ten for trying to mix in submissions

Paul - I left a message in the comment section of your live chat yesterday. I don't know whether you go back and check those however. If you don't I'll be sure to send it to you some other way.

My shime waza and kansetsu waza with weapons. Love it!! Bonding with pain, ain't that the truth. Throw him off the cliff! LOL that's why I love my Judo, I let the earth strike. Great lesson!

I like the doctrine of liking to close and grapple One, he’s got to properly mis time his swing for u to block it like that and if he’s snapping back fast it should be pretty hard to grapple That being said once u grapple him why wouldn’t u just strike to the face with the short end? Also I’m afraid those submissions aren’t very realistic The wrist lock will just hurt nothing more, and it looks very easy to escape The headlock could definitely be used to stall with (and be rather painful I’m sure), but I’m sorry, it really doesn’t look like it’s anywhere near to being a blood choke U might be better off dropping your weapon and going for a takedown if u wana commit to a grapple (in any 1v1 that is)

Without weapons kali is super ineffective, sorry not sorry. Never heard of a credentialed kali pro fighter, it’s gotta be one of the worst martial arts ever.
@chrisrawlings21174 жыл бұрын
Without weapons? Really? Absolutely nuts to think there are rules. Credentialed? Ohhh you must be an mma cage fighter! (The best! good for you!)
@reyanit7354 жыл бұрын
I love your videos but these tapping techniques are nuts for a grappler! With this techniques can't imobilized no one, maybe only amateur! Who practices mma or grappling knows well what i mean!
@kalicenter4 жыл бұрын
with intelligence, this clearly is a technical demonstration and is NOT the actual application. You would hit them hard, fast and a lot not really needing these ridiculous techniques. Not everything on my channel is intended for fighting. It's just showing different aspects fo the art. Don't be too serious all the time. Have fun.
