Kalimba, Koma Field Kit FX & Sony Cassette Player | Experimental Chimes

Assemblage of experimental sounds comprising a kalimba, Moog Sound Studio, Koma Sequential Voltage Source sensor, and cassette tape sample.The signal is being processed through the Koma Field Kit FX. Kalimba recorded through both a contact mic via the Koma Field Kit and Neumann TLM 103 condenser mic.

Thanks! It’s a combination of a few sounds. I looped a synth part on my Tascam Linear PCM recorder and recorded that onto the tape in the Sony cassette player. Then I changed the tape speed, and played the audio from the tape into the Field Kit FX. I also patched the signal output from the Field Kit’s signal interface into the frequency shifter on the Field Kit FX, and the DFAM is generating the ‘wah’ sounding synth.
