Thanks, so few actually explain their process precisely.

Hey Perry. Nice shirt! You don't need to use a powerhead to mix the kalkwasser. Using the powerhead will actually add more CO2 to the solution than you want. You can just mix it with a couple moves of a spoon or stick. I also dose throughout the day. Yes, pH is a byproduct! Well said! The addition of kalk should be primarily be directed for calcium/alkalinity supplementation within the limits of each system at that period of time, according to the consumption. Nice to see your face, man. Keep growing those Acros!!! Aloha!

Ha, ha, thank you Alex! Noted on the kalkwasser stirring, I have a karge spoon for future stirring :)

Hey all, Alex makes a lot of sense about MIXING the kalkwasser solution. I no longer use the powerhead, and now just mix with a large mixing spoon. Everything else is the same! Thank you Alex!!!

@@PerrysReef You are very welcome!! My pleasure. Yes, it's much better and as I've said, it prevents the CO2 from the atmosphere to get in the solution. The heat of the pump is also a negative aspect to the process. The calcium ions are more available in kalkwasser when the temperature of the solution is lower. There is not much need for the mixing action. When I used to dose with IV the mixing action was as simple as turning the container upside down gently without air bubbles. You just want to have that powder diluted and a little bit of left over on the bottom to be discarded. Gotta love Acros, brother!

I have. CO2 meter in my house. 1 human in a 1,500 sq ft house is almost no impact on the meter. IMO, CO2 is more of a “thing” we like to talk about when it comes to a vat of Kalk solution. I get 2 humans in here (lol, with my personality that’s the tricky part) and CO2 goes to maybe 650ppm, still well into the green. I’m sure it’s a diff story if winter back East and a full fam in the house. I’m gonna watch again, but did you cover how/where you drip back in? I currently drip it from my Radion light bar, into the middle of the display. When it stops dripping I know it’s empty. If I don’t get the “drip back in” part correct I gunk up pumps and make a mess.

@@Fish_Ventura I am actually now taking 5 gallon small batches, full saturated, and 24 hour settle. Then pour into a 20 gallon Brute, with matching lid, and a couple 2lb dumbells on lid for tight fit. I use a Milwaukee MP810 pump to dispense into sump, on a timer with 15 minute intervals. Currently using 18 intervals during mostly non lit hours. I will make a follow up video soon, with more detail. Cheers 🍻

What kind of sump is that?

Homemade- bought on amazon, 75 gallon RV water reservoir, which was cut out with a jigsaw. DIY, lol... I actually love it, massive area for rocks

How do you get 25 ml/min from Milwaukee pump?. I believe it doses .16 gal/min (605 ml/min)
@PerrysReef Жыл бұрын
Yes, I know, specs were confusing on this pump, I actually rated it against BRS pump at 50ml, which is what I now use, lol. I just dose kalk 15 minutes, every 3 hours, using BRS pump, 8 cycles daily. The pump is approximately 50 ml per minute. This has me peaking at 8.4 low at 8.1 I will likely update. The Milwaukee is much slower. I would say 25 ml is quite accurate, fwiw. Big ups for the follow!!!
