The problem in Kenya is we do not have a strong opposition. The problem is opposition leaders are coopted to join the ruling party. This should be discouraged. Secondly, i suggest if Ruto is considered President the opposition should hold their ground. Why 1. The election was won by ruto by the slimmest of margins ever in Kenyas history. Meaning there is much for the oppostion to look foward to. They only lost equivalent to the number of votes in one county. 2. The opposition needs national figures to be seen. What i mean is if this is the last time for raila to run Kalonzo and Martha may be the two leading contenders come 2027. To keep them in the lime light, Azimio needs to nominate one to become Mp and the other to be nominated the senator. And then once nominated one of them can be elected by the party to be the opposition leader in each house one of them in the senate and the other in the house. This will ensure the party has feasible prominent politicians to lead a strong opposition and put the current govt in check. Because if they are not active in govt , they will be forgotten and Kenyans will look for other leaders whom they see in a daily basis and then they become hosue hold names. But the idea of them not being active in the daily grind of poltics and just be normal citizens, people will forget about them and move foward.
