Thank you! That is very helpful! I appreciate that you explained the difference between imagination and visualization. Would looking at a picture with Tara be visualization in front and remembering the image in mind of the picture be imagination ? Or the visualization is actually embodying the deity as for example at the dissolution phase of the meditation ? I admit I am a bit puzzled about you saying that chanting is not devotion ... It's like in saying that devotion is deeper than mere chanting so that one shouldn't get identified with emotions ? Or that devotion cannot be fabricated through chanting ? Or because the body-speech-mind are not separate when one is chanting a mantra for example, then who is chanting when there is purity of intent than there is no subject-object split and then no devotee and no object of devotion ?
