Kalush is a small town in the heart of Ivano-Frankivsk region, which is covered in history from head to toe. The first settlements on the territory of Kalushchyna existed as early as the times of Galician Rus. Since that time, the documents have not been preserved, but a map has survived where Kalush is drawn on the map of the Galicia-Volyn principality (XII-XIII centuries). The first written story about Kalush was recorded in 1437.
During the rule of the Austro-Hungarian Empire on the territory of the western lands of Ukraine, Kalush was considered the second city in the world where natural salt springs were found - "kalush" (from which the name of the city came).
