Babla I would say is one or the best drummer in the world from India! He and his wife Kanchan rock the Caribbean by mixing calypso and hindi music. We are sad to know that Kanchan died she was a true friend of the people of the west indies especially Guyana,Trinidad and surinam. ( Canada)

Kji Aji very underrated music directors...didn't get their proper due. Very talented and great unforgettable music. The drums in Laila o Laila are unmatchable. What a tune and rhythm. Evergreen music in the 60s and 70s. They deserve tributes in music TV shows like Indian Idol and SRGMP. Manoj Kumar, Prakash Mehra, Gulshan Rai, Anjaan, Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, and many others owe to the genius of Kalyanji Anandji. Babla was an integral part of their music. The original nagin been music was the creation of Kalyanji Bhai. He played the been in the 1954 film Nagin which had music by Hemant Kumar. After 60 years it's still played. That tune has become synonymous with naagin. Legends - R. I. P.

Babla alongwith his (late) wife Kanchan gained much much more fame in the West Indies as the musical duo "Kanchan Babla". He is still pretty much a house-hold name in Trinidad, Guyana, Surinam, etc, much like Kishore Kumar is in India (for example).
