All forms of indian music and dance can found their roots in Hindu scripture "Natya Shastra" , also considered as 5th Veda. The term "Raaga" first found in this scripture. Later Matanga Muni in 5th century written Brihaddesi, which gives detail explanation about the concept of Raaga. NatuaShastra 28.21 describes musical notes Sa - Shadja, Re - Rishabh, Ga - Gandhar, Ma - Madhyam, Pa - Pancham, Dha - Dhaivat and Ni - Nishad.

This is why KZbin is the greatest site on the internet. I started out with cypress hill and kerbdog,a bit of underground hip-hop,my usual thing,but I'm currently reading Paul Scott's Raj quartet wherein he mentions a girl singing a morning raja. Being curious I typed that in, and a couple of buttons later I end up here. This is so much more appropriate for my reading material but it's so good I stopped reading and spent 20 mins just staring at the ceiling. I need to listen to this a couple of times before I can read again as I can see it's gonna make fantastic background noise,but for now I can only concentrate on the music. I was searching music for dance. This one nicer than others. It is better either for dance or relaxing. When this music started I can't change it into others or to stop it. All instruments of it, just they lured me into their circle, surrounding me on all sides and I fell into a trance. Nothing were better than this music. They let me know that I still...
