A few days ago, it was M.D.Taseer (Muhammad Din Taseer) sahib's death anniversary. Apart from being a renowned poet, eminent critic and a leading educationist of his time, Dr. M.D.Taseer was also a vital member of Lahore's famous literary circle of 1930s 'Niaz Mandaan-e-Lahore' which included luminiaries like Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum, AS Bukhari, Abdul Majeed Salik & Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj etc.
I am sharing an excerpt from a mehfil held in his memory in which Farida Khanum sahiba renders a ghazal penned by him. This mehfil was specially organized by M.D's son Salman Taseer, who was brutally murdered few years ago. Hosting is done by Shoaib Hashmi. A HUM TV presentation.

Upload kernay walay tera bayhad shukriya. Me nay dec 2009 me yah gazal t.v py suni thi. Us k bad se talash ker raha hun. Aj bhi serching bar me likh k talash ki to samny aa gai. Mer merhoom walida ki wafat k chand din bad me ny suni thi t.v pay or tasawer me apni walida ko lay aya tha. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Gham taza hogya .
