सातवें शारजाह मास्टर्स शतरंज के साथ साथ इस समय शारजाह चैलेंजर का मुक़ाबला भी अब अफेन अंतिम पड़ाव पर पहुँच गया है । चैलेंजर वर्ग में 38 देशो के कुल 98 खिलाड़ी खेल रहे है और ऐसे में इस ओपन टूर्नामेंट में जिसमें गिनती की महिला खिलाड़ी भाग ले रही है भारत की 19 वर्षीय दिव्या देशमुख नें अब तक बेहद शानदार खेल दिखाया है और फिलहाल दिव्या 8 राउंड के बाद 6.5 अंक बनाकर रूस की 20 वर्षीय लेया गारीफुलिना के साथ सयुंक्त बढ़त पर चल रही है और अंतिम राउंड में दिव्या अब सफ़ेद मोहरो से लेया से मुक़ाबला खेलेंगी ।
Alongside the seventh Sharjah Masters Chess Tournament, the Sharjah Challenger is also now reaching its final stages. In the Challenger category, a total of 98 players from 38 countries are competing. In this open tournament, with only a few female players participating, India's 19-year-old Divya Deshmukh has shown remarkable performance so far. After 8 rounds, Divya is currently tied for the lead with Russia's 20-year-old Leya Garifullina, both having scored 6.5 points. In the final round, Divya will play against Leya with the white pieces.

Divya Deshmukh challengers group mein khel rahi hain jahaan unke kuchh muqaable lower rated khilaadiyon se huye hain aur unka saamna teen GMs se nahin ho paayega . Agar wo ek aur GM se khel paati aur unke shuru ke do opponent higher rated hote to Divya Deshmukh ko is tournament se ek GM norm mil jaata. Magar ab aisa nahin ho paayega.
