Nice, what DMX values are you using to get the mirror settings at 7:20 on the recording? Thx.

What app were you using to control the lights?

What are you using to control them? Were they easy to program?

Hi I used Enttec DMXIS to do the programs. It is very easy to use and relatively fast to plot chases and scenes for a quad head fixture like this. I addressed each head on the bar individually so they could do different things on each scene, but the program also gives you quick options to group them and apply the same changes at once.

@@peternance3889 Thanks for replying. How's did you link the tablet to the fixtures?

@@StuartDWilliams ah very good point. I used the unbelieveably free software Touch OSC downloaded to my tablet. Providing the tablet and computer running DMXIS are on the same network, Touch osc can be edited by you to control any fader or setting in the lighting control program, so it essentially becomes a remote controller for the program. This chap explains it very well here kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4C7d2lnqJZortk and you can get Touch osc from here hexler.net/touchosc#get

@@trixduowirral5630 Thanks for the insight, all the years I've DJed I've never dmxed my lights, just daisy chained and used a pre progrmmed controller... but not is the time to learn

@@StuartDWilliams I am self taught and although it was quite steep a curve to start with it becomes very straight forward and massively rewarding. The main things i wish I had been told was to understand DMX addressing in the first place and what controller is most appropriate to the performance you are working in. The addressing information is all there in the user manual of any fixture you buy, but it sort of assumes a level of understanding often. The way I learned was to get a single fixture, set it via the menu to work at its mode featuring the maximum amount of channels say, 12. And then set the dmx address to 001. That way I knew I couldn't get lost since fader 1 would always control what channel one says it did in the manual and so on.. from there, it took a pen and paper to keep track of which address numbers corresponded to the channel 1 of a new fixture and so on until I had several fixtures that I could quickly control. The control device was important because I wanted to save multiple scenes on multiple banks (I was in a band so each new bank was a song we played), all with multiple scenes or state changes during that song. I just wanted to trigger these with the press of a button, so after a while I realised a small memory desk wasn't going to provide enough banks, so I chose software with virtually unlimited banks, and a simple footswitch to trigger them live after I had created them. Good luck, have fun!
